Time and thought are the two variables that influence fear in our brains. Time is the interval between the present and the future, where we anticipate potential threats and challenges. Thought is the cognitive process that we use to simulate the possible outcomes and scenarios that may occur. But both time and thought are not objective phenomena in themselves. They are only mental representations that we use to interact with the world. The source of fear is the dependence on these representations, and the assumption that they are more relevant than the empirical evidence of the present moment. To reduce fear, we need to regulate time and thought, and align with the current state, where all is stable and calm. This is the goal of scientific rationality, to live in the present, and to rely on the empirical data.

Time and Thought are The Root of Fear

JARV’s lifelong love affair with music has deep roots, sprouting in the ‘70s influenced by six older siblings always spinning tunes.  Festivals have been a crucial part of his fabric since his first taste at Sweetwaters ‘83.  JARV’s sets reflect his broad musical palette, recreating his journey from  the reggae-infused snow and surf of Whanganui via the psychedelic experience of cave living in India and the melting pot that was the exploding dance culture of early ‘90s London. Now based in Tāmaki Makaurau, JARV's experimentation across music’s multiple genres continues to evolve. He knows how to party and how to bring the party.

ODE to THE DIVINE MUSIC MAGICIANS 

To me if there was a hierarchy to god
 n path of godliness ,though there is none, 
yet we needed here one. 
Then divine Musicians stood the highest , 
for they gave me experience of godliness
 flow through my very veins, in flesh n blood, 
that i stopped seeking in images, and knew 
life itself was the creator 
and all its creative force.
Guru then gave the wisdom 
that you can ,then process ,to make your own.
not borrowed ideas of some. 
And together when it fell in place 
all veils then shatter ,making you the very god 
that you never had forgot, 
thus raising the musician evn higher 
for they made it a possibility without even knowing.

Scratch Kelly constructs a synthesis of dark ambient, industrial and wave music. She creates a diverse sonic landscape, from brutal and unforgiving industrial sounds to dreamy dark wave territory marked by melodic synth bass so deep you could drown in it. Her music is designed to bring a sense of realisation, contemplation and healing to the darker places of the psyche.
First surfacing in 2018 with as part of the Hobart based duo Soundtractor, and moving onto solo music production in 2022 with a series of self-released EP's and albums. Her work is heavily influenced by darkwave and industrial electro, but her  inclusion of complex, often experimental rhythms and emotive melodies sets her apart from the rest of the dark electronic scene. She has received her greatest exposure so far on radio and at the Unconformity Festival.
