[07/03/2025] Focusing One's Attention Upon the Qur'ān in the Month of Ramaḍān - By Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– {Recite O Muhammad what has been revealed to you from the Book} [Surah Al-Ankabut (29):45].
– {And I am commanded to be from among the Muslims (those who submit to Allāh in Islām). And to recite the Qur’ān} [Surah Al-Naml (27):91-92].

Question no.53: Does Travelling for Educational/Work Purposes permit a person to not fast (if it falls under a Safr) & What is the Journey that does not permit a person to shorten their prayer/not fast Ramaḍān?
- The View of Ibn Taymiyyah & Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمهما الله) on the one who travels for a period of time but without intending to permanent reside there, rather they are away for a restricted period of time no matter how short or lengthy
- Some other Scholars who also hold this view
- The Narration of Ibn Umar (رضى الله عنهما) where he remained in Azerbaijan for 6 months due to Snow
- Not delaying making up missed fasts of Ramaḍān whilst being away from home for several years
- Can the person who travels to perform a Sin (i.e., travels for a Harām reason) shorten their prayer?

Q: If a person prays their Witr prayer like the Ḥanafis do, is it correct given they come back up for the 3rd rak'ah after the first tashahhud, and then raise their hands for Takbīr (after reciting Fātihah & a Sūrah) to perform the Duā Qunoot narrated from Umar (رضى الله عنه)?

Q: If female family members pray their sunnah or nafl prayers next to their male family members (mahrams) at home, is this allowed or prohibited?
