Lesson Four

Allāh has made the matter of being united upon the truth and avoiding division clear and sufficient, in a way that even the common people can understand.

Division is a cause of destruction.

The roots of division and misguidance must be understood and avoided.

True unity comes through submission and adherence to the revelation from Allāh- the Qur'ān and the Sunnah.

It is only Allāh who can change the conditions of the hearts.

Reflect upon what united the hearts of the Companions (may Allāh be pleased with them).

[31/10/2025] Tawḥīd Relieves Distress - By Abu 'Abdir-Raḥmān Hilāl حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– {Indeed we have created man in toil} [Surah al-Balad (90): 4].
– Understanding tawḥīd is the means of relieving oneself from the distresses of life.
– The rights of Allãh and the rights of the slave.
– Story of the Prophet Yunus عليه السلام and the supplication that he made during his trial.
– The virtues and benefits from the du'ã of Yunus عليه السلام.
– {Who rescues you from the darkness of the land and the sea...} [Surah al-An’am (6): 63].
– {When He brings you safe to land you are ever ungrateful} [Surah al-Isrā' (17): 67].
– Du'ā made in times of hardship by the Prophet ﷺ.
– Tawḥīd is the foundation of everything, including du'ã.
– Trials are like waves, and refuge is sought from Allãh and not the people.
– Asking Allãh alone, persistently, that your needs are fulfilled and distresses removed.
– Tawḥīd is the best means to attain safety, security, guidance, and happiness – in this life and the hereafter.
