Huge pleasure to welcome one of the most interesting names on the Prague scene at this moment. Masha Kornieieva aka AXT is from Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine. She's a DJ, sound producer, resident of ONYX (Prague), and a co-owner of the Motsion — Ukrainian multidisciplinary formation focusing on audio and visual performances. She started her musical career in 2015 and managed to make a mark at the Kultura Zvuku in Kharkiv, ∄ in Kyiv, Vitamin club in Brno, Ankali and Fuchs2 in Prague, HÖR, etc. AXT mainly plays bass, experimental, and drum'n'bass.

As a pair of foreigners (from the UK and Bosnia) living in Praha, Czechia, we as curators of YUKU wanted to give something back to the creative residents of this country by creating a series on our label to platform local artists. "místní fauna" means "local wildlife" in Czech, and these 10 tracks capture the aesthetics of 10 different artists — either Czech natives or creators residing in the country.

We plan to do this as an ongoing series to highlight artists from what's an often-neglected region by the press and media in general, so this is hopefully just the beginning <3

Since arriving in Prague, Masha and Andriy have become beautifully active members of the Czech electronic music scene performing in many venues including Vitamin, Fuchs2, Ankali, and Bike Jesus. Both artists take unique approaches to producing contemporary bass music that fluctuates over many bpms and formations. In this mix for @markhamroad, the pair go back to back for a journey through the slower side of mutant rhythms - Packed with tracks from locals and internationals alike, this mix stands out shinning just like the duo themselves <3
