A few years ago, one server crashed on my computer. Then I lost some midi files (including After Midnight) since I had not updated. But recently I found an old master file of After Midnight. So I remastered it.
For a while I thought I could make a whole new recording, but then it would be difficult to get the choruses identical. I am very happy with the choruses as they are.

When I made the composition I had a picture in my head of a woman who was the best dancer in the city. She always arrived after midnight and everyone was enchanted by her beautiful dance. Lucky was the one who got to dance with her.

It is wonderful when a previously released song has enough potential energy to be released as a new song in a different genre.  So it is with this song first inspired by Thommo last spring in a collaboration with him and Ren Faye called "Dream Catching".  I liked the initial soundscape and guitar parts enough that I wanted to do a separate acoustic release under a different title.  Debra Buesking's definitive artistry entered the picture when we were teasing ideas for another collaboration.  I submitted this to her, she loved it, and now graces it with her superb playing, actually re-inventing the song.  More of her fine music can be heard @debra_buesking 
Imagine a windswept veranda. a couple dancing to distant thunder, passions building and breaking as the storm approaches. Music & Lyrics: Jan Schonander

Not being a drummer or having access to a collaborating drummer very often I have been moving away from using the Logic Pro virtual drummer and playing the drum grooves on my keyboard. I have to admit it has given me added respect for the art as it is not easy (at least for me) to keep a consistent beat even for a few bars. For this I used the Vintage Breaks+ drum kit, but to get the deep sound applied the Space D reverb, which I then also used to give the same overall sound to all the stems. The bass is a Logic Baby Bass treated with a Full Stack guitar amplifier. For the vocal in the chorus I used a reverse Space D reverb to achieve the ghostly effect. Lyrically I think this song speaks for itself.

I grew up on hip hop and have always been a hip hop musician first. Hip hop (and lo-fi indie rock) is the lens through which I always first approach making a song. After spending years listening to the music of our SoundCloud community, everyone's music has found a deep place in my heart. I believe that when hip hop artists first began sampling funk tracks in the 80s, it was out of love and respect for the music they grew up with and identified with. I now sample the music of my SoundCloud collaborators and friends to make new songs from those that I love. Tony Turn Around is a celebration of that process. It is a representation of the joy of sampling and the delight of playing around with cool sounds from musicians you respect and admire. Charting Your Mind - Myrh & LE DRAPEAU NOIR FLOTTE SUR LA MARMITE

The moon's orbit around earth is elliptical, with one side closer to earth than the other. As a result, the distance between the moon and earth varies throughout the month and the year. The point on the moon's orbit closest to earth is called the perigee and the point farthest away is the apogee.  This piece was constructed to give a musical sense of this spacial reality by going from apogee to perigee and then back to apogee.

The Melody of this song was written by Charlie Chaplin and released 1936 in the movie "Modern Times". The lyrics were written later by John Turner und Geoffrey Parsons. This song was performed by the worlds best artists. How could one not love this tune? This is my interpretation. Thank you so much for listening and don´t forget to smile :)

I was honored when https://soundcloud.com/graphicsontelevisions asked me to remake ‘Tattlesnakes’ from their fantastic album ‘Pun’. Maybe it’s the wildest one, unpredictable but coherent, it inspired me immediately !!

I've remixed to my taste their original studio stems (drums & keyboards), adding my own vocals, guitars & more... hard recommendation of headphones again !!

Lyrics are from another of my ancient poems, where I played with oxytone & eproparoxytone rhymes (translated below but with lost effect in English).

Tardigrade & Tattlesnakes (with Graphics on Televisions)

Synesthesia is main motif for this song, first because of original lyrics, then as I felt like adding it more flavor with female vocals*, & finally when I recently watched some paintings about this matter**.

*Great vocal performance by https://soundcloud.com/maraoldfield is most notorious matter in this piece, where riffing parts toggle with bass-guided proggy ones.
