Double O and Theory step up to the stage for our debut release, both sides of which have been destroying dance floors for the last few months... 
On the A side, Theory's Rebel Alliance is a thunderous amen rinseout layered with cinematic soundscapes. This track has been heavily road tested and murders the dance every time! 
Double O, co-founder of Rupture brings both his production and vocal skills to the B side. Sufferation is a deep and moody amen track that incorporates soulful pads, heavy dub bass and hardcore stabs. These trademark Double O sounds make Sufferation a deep and heartfelt track that also causes mayhem on the dancefloor.

DJ Headstrong is a drum n bass DJ and producer based in North West London UK and he has been involved with this music for over 20 years as it has evolved from hardcore into what we know as drum n bass today. 

A long DJ-ing history began with him starting out in the early days with a group of friends called ‘The Weedkillas’ on the pirate radio station Kool FM and also playing at their infamous Jungle Fever raves @ The Edge in Coventry and other venues in London with DJ’s including Jack Frost, Ron, Swift, Slipmatt and Mc’s Moose, Navigator, Five 0 and Det. 

His DJ-ing skills landed him a residency with creators of Tribal Gathering, Universe, at their club night Voyager @ Complex.  He was in good company again here playing alongside artists and DJ’s such as LTJ Bukem, Jonny L, Ed Rush and Trace. 

After causing mayhem at the Rivermead Centre during Reading Festival 96, Universe gave DJ Headstrong probably his biggest and most memorable gig to date, a set at Tribal Gathering 97. As expected all the big names were in attendance including Fabio & Grooverider, Mickey Finn, Randall, Ray Keith and many more and it was an unforgettable event for all those who were there. 

His production skills have also been well received with many of the top DJ’s playing his tracks and collaborations all over the world. These include a remix with Jonny L on his track ‘This Time’ released on XL Recordings which was caned at the legendary Blue Note sessions and many other venues.  Under the pseudonym ‘Studio 12’ a collaboration with Peshay saw the release of a unique track called ‘Jammin’ on Cubic Records which featured on   J Majik’s FabricLive 13 mix,  and also a track called ‘Creeping Dub’ co-written with Heist which was released on Digital Soundboy Recordings.  Both of these tracks received huge worldwide DJ and radio support and were in the top 3 of the Radio one weekly drum n bass chart for a number of weeks. 

DJ Headstrong is also a member of ‘The Upfull Rockers’ who release reggae influenced drum n bass on their own ‘Dub Dimension’ record label. 

Other residencies and guest spots have taken him to various venues and events including Kiss 100 FM, The Jazz Bistro, Reading’s Come Together Festival, Wkd’s, Limelights and The Fez Club to name but a few. 

Many years ago he met Neil Mac on a night out in Reading’s Boxing Club.  This led to his residency at ‘The Subfactory’ @ Reading’s Purple Turtle Club which he enjoys and continues to the present day.

All About :: The Art of Collage & Rhetorical Velocity

I am specifically interested in situations where composers anticipate and strategize future third-party remixing of their compositions as part of a larger and complex rhetorical strategy that plays out across physical and digital spaces. We find this type of thinking—the asking of “how might the text be rewritten?” and “why, where, and for whom might this text be rewritten?”—an increasingly important set of questions in a digital age characterized, for instance, by swift, easy, and deep web searching and by copying and pasting practices. 

COLLAGE ::  Artistic compositions of materials and objects pasted and/or sewn/woven over and through surfaces, often with unifying and/or juxtaposing structures, lines, colors, themes in order to create textured, alive, amplified spaces. 

SYNTHESIS (AKA Mashup): Creating Compelling Texts comprised of borrowed, reconstituted, and original material.

The art of creating such compositions.
