Every human is fundamentally good. It’s the journey of life that shapes their expression of that goodness. Through music and dance, community and creativity, Zach Walker offers to each person he encounters the opportunity to uplift and raise their own vibration into higher states of love through meticulously composed sets and his own dedication in cultivating purpose, vision and transformation.

A youthful entry into the world of dance music, Zach began attending Burning Man at age 16 and soon after made himself a cornerstone of the long standing day party and production house, Pink Mammoth. It wasn’t long until he became an integral fabric in the culture of the dance community. You can find him before or after a gig checking out local vegan fare while kicking it in Chuck Taylors, an organic cotton tee and a big smile.

Zach has played notable clubs, festivals, and parties all over the world; Further Future, Envision Festival, Desert Hearts, SXM Festival, and Lighting In A Bottle to name a few.

On this week’s Cadenza Music Source to Cycle podcast, we welcome a British DJ who has played a hugely pivotal part in house music’s development since the late 1980s.

Eddie Richards has been described as “Britain’s godfather of house & techno” by the clubbing magazine Mixmag, cutting his teeth on the London DJ circuit at the legendary Camden Palace in the 80s, and at important clubs like Clink Street and Heaven in London, and the Hacienda in Manchester.  One of the first DJs to ever champion house music, Eddie was a firm favourite on the UK rave scene, and over the years has become widely recognized as one of the founders of the often misinterpreted genre of tech-house.  Alongside Terry Francis and Nathan Coles, Eddie has been an integral part of the Wiggle nights for over 20 years now and also plays regularly at Fabric in London, as well as clubs all over the world.

Eddie also been producing right from the start of the house explosion, his Jolly Roger moniker released blueprint acid house in 1988/1989, and he’s consistently released records ever since.

About the CD:
002 of the Classic Mix CD Series and yet another absolute stand out classic. After getting into house at around 15, I guess my only source of info was Danny Rampling's seminal LGDP (Love Groove Dance Party) Saturday nights on Radio 1. However I can't remember Carter getting much coverage on there, yet he, much like Danny Tenaglia seemed to have a level of legend unlike most. This CD cemented my love of house music with an all might smash in the face. The tempo, the bass, the disco, the filters, and fucked up vocals... this was heavyweight. Nothing could compete at the time. I'll always remember driving to college with my 2 nerdy class mates and insisting they played this CD in the car. I'm raving in the back and they are like "What the fuck is this shit, turn it down!". It's with immense pleasure that DJ's like Sneak and Carter seem to be booking all the massive clubs and parties again. I'm not so keen on the whole 'I'm a House Gangster' vibe... but this is as bad as it gets.

002 - Mixmag presents - Derrick Carter 'The Cosmic Disco' (1997)

Sonic love travels in many dimensions and as it relates to music, Marques Wyatt is a seminal pioneer and is undoubtedly one of the most respected DJ's in the United States and a West Coast legend. In addition to producing some of LA's most legendary clubs/events, many associate him with "DEEP," the illustrious event that he nurtured in his hometown of Los Angeles - thriving and continuing today for well over 19 years. He is one of the few DJ's that have managed to cross pollinate audiences and merge at least two generations of music fans on his dance floors. Thus, he is in demand at clubs, as well as on the festival circuit alike, stateside and abroad. Marques' unerring, knowledgeable selections are sure to stir up some emotions and known to turn huge dance floors into intimate rituals.
