Higher Conspiracies

Apex: The zenith, or the utmost pinnacle, where an entity or phenomenon reaches its supreme elevation or ultimate degree. It signifies the most exalted point in a hierarchy, trajectory, or progression, embodying the culmination of power, intensity, or refinement.

In nature, an apex is the sovereign peak, where mastery and dominance reside, untouched by rivals. In life and achievement, it is the crowning moment, the apogee of success, beyond which nothing higher may ascend.

SKOG

A lone figure stands sentinel atop a snow-covered ridge under a starless sky. The air is frigid, each breath a visible puff that quickly dissipates into the night. The only sounds are the soft crunch of boots on frozen ground and the distant howl of wind weaving through skeletal trees. Cloaked in layers of dark wool and fur, the watchman grips a weathered spear, his eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of movement. The world feels suspended in time, as if the night itself holds its breath.

Summer Breeze

Lux Tenebris (meaning ‘Light in Darkness’) is a blend of contemporary dark and ambient electronica with classical overtones. The work evolves towards the climax of 'eternal return', where the light returns. 

Cinematic and richly layered — evoking both shadow and illumination. Exploring how light and darkness shape our lives. I was interested in capturing the luminescence of life and the idea that beauty can be found even in the darkest places. 

Originally composed for a dance work of the same name in 2016 by choreographer Rafael Bonachela, commissioned by Sydney Dance Company.
