Hi, I'm Martin Gruber, a German guitarist and composer. In December 2020 and January 2021, I have written and recorded my first solo album "Business As Unusual", with ten instrumental, guitar oriented songs.

Staring At The Waves

Hi, I'm Martin Gruber, a German guitarist and songwriter. Born in the sixties, my first influences where The Beatles, Deep Purple and all the classic, guitar driven bands at that time. And of course my brothers’ band, which was rehearsing in my parents house. At the age of 10 I was fascinated by rockmusic and after two years learning to play a little bit on a acoustic guitar I raised enough money to buy my first electric guitar: A black Fender Stratocaster, which is still my main instrument!
Soaking up the music of my heroes, I tried and learned to play mostly as an autodidact.
16 years old, I finally joined my brothers band “Bourbon”, which released two albums with slightly prog influenced power rock.
Through the years I played in several bands with a slightly wider range of stylistics from straight rock’n roll (“Der Ernst des Lebens) to instrumental jazzrock (“Electrified Groove Orchestra) and even acoustic pop (“The Praekers”, playing a short time with Manne Praeker, bassist in the Nina Hagen Band and Spliff, Producer of Nenas “99 Luftballons”).
So, for a nonprofessional musician, I was quite engaged with playing as a sideman and writing my own music from time to time.

With the begin of the pandemic in 2020 I began seriously writing music for my own and after two month I had enough material to release “Business As Unusual”, my fist solo album with ten instrumental rock tracks, all played and produced by myself.
Now in 2022, still stuck in this situation, I’m writing new music and am beginning to add my vocals to the music. I already finished a handful of tracks but I am still in the middle of creating new music for an album in 2022!
