Venera shares ‘Tear’, the first single of the upcoming album ‘Exinfinite’ out via PAN on September 12th, 2025.

Having defined a multi-dimensional sonic universe on their acclaimed eponymous debut album, composer/filmmaker Chris Hunt and Korn’s James “Munky” Shaffer abandon the familiar and drift towards a kingdom of recursion on EXINFINITE, staring down a tangled mass of mirrored wormholes that hum with eldritch ambiguity.

On ‘Tear’, the duo’s new direction can be heard clearly as Shaffer’s primal guitar noises are reformed into eerie widescreen expositions that Hunt punctuates with pneumatic kick and snare cycles. Broken up by airlock hisses and luminous synths, the track proposes a backdrop that VENERA continuously transmute, reforging the concept as the album develops.

A Jealous Girl

Veil is an ambient sound piece created from field recordings I made while traveling through Indonesia — in ancient ruins and quiet hotel courtyards. Fragments of ambient noise, natural textures, and environmental resonance are layered with sparse, semi-random sound elements. Piano harmony emerges and fades, echoing through a structure. This piece aims to explore the threshold between music and noise, presence and absence ― an invitation to listen closely and let your perception fill in the spaces.

Veil

Sonotant is the experimental electroacoustic music project of Masako Yokouchi, where organic soundscapes are crafted from field recordings and unconventional sonic sources. The music blends acoustic instrument recordings with digital audio and improvisational elements to offer a calming yet intriguing listening experience.

Her compositions are often inspired by the serenity and beauty found in the natural sounds of urban environments and the surrounding landscapes. Her creative process moves fluidly between the ambient and the depths of human consciousness, transforming fleeting moments into something deeply resonant.
Drawing from a diverse musical journey, Masako’s background spans classical piano and cello, free improvisation with accordion and keyboard, and early exposure to Japanese pop and jazz. This eclectic foundation shapes her multifaceted approach to composition.

In addition to her music, she teaches piano, music theory, and electronic music production to both children and adults.
