For the past 10 months I have been reworking and re-imagining every UK number one single since the charts began in 1952. Using solely the 1200+ songs with no other samples i have created a huge portfolio of plunderphonic works, varying dramatically from the the absurd to the sublime, from hilarious to profound, recycling the songs that defined the generations with infinite imagination.

The project is evolving and exciting as new works are uploaded daily
online for the world to hear and download. One day you may hear bucks
fizz turned into ambient mood music, the next 100 number ones are
chopped up into fragments and made into a frenzied sound collage and
by friday it's rage against the machine vs the proclaimers vs
vengaboys.

On November 14th 2012 it will exactly 60 years since the first ever
number one, and on that day the project ends.

I’ve been DJing for over 25 years all over the world in over 20 different countries to 1000’s of people every weekend. I’ve got a No.1 hit record under my belt as SL2 which smashed the UK charts in the 90’s with "On A Ragga Tip" and I was signed to the same record label as The Prodigy. Tired of hearing 'generic ethnic music' on television, film, games & ads, I decided the media world needs a new library of contemporary, youthful, culturally-diverse music, sympathetic to specific ethnicities and nations.

I am creating a library of culturally-sensitive, cinematic music in five styles - Ambient, Lofi beats, Downtempo, House and Jungle - for each country, using authentic instruments and rhythms.

I have been writing & producing music as a solo artist and in bands for 20+ years. An internationally nomadic childhood across four continents is what sparked my love of our world, its people, its stories, and a desire to see them authentically represented on screen.

This is a bass heavy new electronic project by Belgian producer Shepherd (a.k.a. Julien Itterbeek). The style is akin to the sinister breakbeat sound of Scorn or Push Button Objects but hidden beneath its murky swamp of squelchy synth lines are intriguing, alien-like emcee vocals. When listening, sometimes I imagine a b-boy battle on a space station between Martians and Mercurians, each crew doing weird twists and flips. It was released as a free MP3 download on the obscure Acroplane label, so be sure to grab it while you can. This is one evil, mind bending album and it accompanies me very often these days from start to finish.
