Born in Switzerland to a musical family, Massivan started with classical training on the violin before evolving into a multifaceted DJ and producer. Co-founder of Modest Records, his early works under the "Josef's Ruhe" moniker gained traction on dance floors worldwide, supported by top DJs like John Digweed and Sasha. Known for his evolving sound, he moved from progressive house to lounge, pop, and electro-infused beats, solidifying his reputation with projects like *Calmstreet* and solo albums such as *Daylife*, *Massenwahn*, and *Wide*. His unique blend of chilled house, jazz, and downtempo has been featured on iconic compilations like Hotel Costes and Buddha Bar.

Massivan's latest album, *Clubology* (2022), and a recent string of singles mark his dynamic return to the global music scene. With roots in Formentera’s vibrant music culture and past DJ residencies at spots like Blue Bar Formentera, Labyrinth Zürich and Space Ibiza, Massivan continues to shape the sound of modern electronic music.
