We proudly present the pre-release of our first single “Be as One”, the next weeks we will do the finishing touches to make it perfect, but for now we would really like to know what you think, and maybe you can give us some advices as well.

I came up with this song while I was asked to make some music for a commercial, and while I was making different versions, I thought we as band could even combine them into a song in a bit more Chill Out / Funky Progressive Rock kind of style.

The real title is "We should all BE as ONE to fight hunger, pain and grief" but that would be to long for a title, but that's what I meant to say. 

Because of the latest news, and the subjects on talk shows lately, I was shocked, while so many things happens in the world, they seem to bother and make such a fuss about so many (little) things, and they seem to forget the real problems our world is facing lately. 
I've asked myself, WHY can't we first take care of the real problems, and try to help each other instead of using up all the time complaining about NOTHING (peanuts things), are we NUTS??
We should BE as ONE to fight the REAL problems in the world, and help each other first.

Now the (technical) music side of this piece:
As I already noticed, a lot of people are wondering John and Hip-Hop or Funk??? 
Well as most of my friends know, I like to experiment with all music styles, and try to merge my orchestral sounds with any styles, especially when people tell me it can't be done, we’re all on it immediately.
In this piece we've tried combine / merge many music styles and instruments, and tried to see what instruments could be used.
I believe with all styles of music, an orchestra can do it too with some adjustments, and that's exactly what I am trying to accomplish with this song too. 
Then I’ve asked all members of Euphoriqa to join in, and do their own part with their talents, unfortunately Hemmo still can’t join us, so I’ve asked Andreas Hoffmann to help us with his great talents to play the solo guitars, which I think he did just splendidly.
Many of you already know, that we’ll continue till we’re completely satisfied with it, that’s why we’ll need a few more sessions for the final CD / single release.

Welcome to our new (original) song, I wrote/composed this song in 1989, and although many attempts were made to finish it by other bands, somehow it never sounded the way I wanted, so the song ended up on the shelf, till we picked it up again and started recording.

The song tells a true story, as it really happened to me, after so many disappointments in relationships that I and this love (back then) had to endure, we were afraid to give it a try (although we were both very much in love with eachother) because of experiences in the past.
This still happens to people today, that’s why these words are still valid, if you fall in love so deeply, go for it, because later you’ll be sorry if you didn’t, and you’ll always ask yourself what if……….., love is a strange thing, but overwhelming at the same time.
Although we tried, the distance (USA / Europe) became an issue after all, so we split up, but we both had a wonderful time together, and we still have good memories about the time back then, now we’re both married, but not with eachother, we stayed good friends,  John Styles.

This song is going to be released later this year (I will keep you posted) on a charity album arranged, composed and produced by John Styles and Matt Baker, for the “Children Cancer Clinic” in Liverpool, England.

The meaning behind “Where Is Hope”:
“For me this song was a humble CRY for healing, for hope... 
The lyrics speak of humility, growth, healing, liberation and love...
I wrote the beginning of this song (Where is hope...) during a time of great darkness, despair, pain, loss, confusion and grief. Then the song sat on the shelf for sometime. The second part (I feel the breeze, of a new season...etc) I wrote only after my 5 year old son's recovery from open heart surgery...one of the most trying, heart wrenching and frightening experiences a parent can go through. 

Many times in life we find the answer, the door, the key, direction, and even hope in the most unexpected places and through the most undesirable situations. 
I've learned this and am continuously striving to be grateful for both the pain and joy's this life brings, and keeping things in perspective. 
For when we open our hearts, and our minds to embrace both pleasure and pain, material and spiritual, compassion and judgment, darkness and light, we are in perfect harmony with true nature.
We are stronger & more alive...living with hope insight. 

I'm honored to be a part of this project and working with such kind and compassionate souls. 
I would like to dedicate my song "Where Is Hope” to the children & families of the “Children Cancer Clinic”.
I pray that the words and music of this song fill the hearts and wounds of all listening with comfort and love, restoring hope and bringing healing.

Welcome to the pre-release One Vision Cross Worlds version of “For you All-with Love”. 
This song is going to be released later this year (I will keep you posted) on a charity album arranged, composed and produced by John Styles and Matt Baker, for the “Children Cancer Clinic” in Liverpool, England.

My inspiration for this track came whilst i was sitting in my little recording studio one day and my mind was wandering to all the little children in the world suffering so terribly,a lot of them with absolutely nobody to turn to and alone...i could picture two little children standing hand in hand in tattered  clothes,dirty tear stained faces looking around at all the destruction and having no-one to take them by the hand and just give them a Hug...my heart Bled!!... and this track was Born... 

When John Styles and Matt Baker contacted me about collaborating  on this track with the view to using it on there forthcoming CD i was delighted and Honored and of course agreed..I lost three of my family to Cancer,my Mother,Grandmother and my Grandfather and to know that my small contribution will go to help someone else delights me beyond belief.. especially as its the Children....

John and Matt are not only Amazing Musicians who produce Wonderful tracks but they are also a credit to the Human race and it is a true Honor to be part of this project..

This track was written for our 'Sing for Clatterbridge' charity album 'Love & Hope Forever', which will be released early next month ready for our fundraising campaign on the run up to Christmas.

We are very excited about this album release as it will help us raise funds for Clatterbridge NHS Cancer hospital. We are thrilled to also announce that we have been joined by 4 other fantastic artists who have supported this cause with wonderful songs and music.

This project started 3 years ago, with the release of our 1st charity single release, 'I Still Believe', which is our Legacy to Clatterbridge NHS Cancer Trust. We had planned to release this single for charity every year with the hope it would become a popular song. We never would have thought 3 years ago that we'd have an Album to release! 

Whilst working on this album, we were very humbled by the thought that other people have been inspired by our project and have not only offered their support, time, creativity, but above all their compassion.  Through our music, we have each shared feelings and experiences with each other, which connect to our share goal, to help others. It is strange really as none of us have ever actually meet outside of this project and the things we've shared would not necessarily be the type of things you'd discuss with a stranger.  

So this connection, has really given us great faith in the fact that we all posses the strength and power to do good things, if we can just find a way to express it freely. We are also very happy to say that our project has given us an opportunity to connect amazing people from all over the world.

We have found this experience almost beyond words, and cannot thank Deborah Henriksson, Rebekah Vesey, Ged Hodkinson & Andreas Hoffmann enough for their contribution. 

So our song, 'Always Behind You' was inspired by working with our new friends and is a song about being there for one another, no matter what; and about the importance of letting others know we are there for them also. If everyone could find the time to reach out and help just one person each day, then  the World would be a better place to be. Unfortunately the World doesn't work like that, so in the absence of everyone doing this, the job is left to the rest of us to pick up the slack. 

Which on reflection is not such a bad thing to take on as a personal challenge.

Euphoriqa - Always Behind You - Matt Baker & John Styles - Pre-release

Welcome to our new song “Don’t look back”, which has a very special meaning to me, this is also a pre-release for our charity album coming out early next month (read below) , first the story behind this song:

My former co-writer Jaap and I wrote this piece for a short commercial in 1974, and we always wanted to make it into a real song, we tried to do so in 1988 but for some reason we never completely finished.& released it, so it ended up on the shelf, until for this very special cause, Matt and I picked it up and added more instruments to the original tracks, and we made a new arrangement with a bridge and tried to give it the same feel, mood and meaning the way as it was meant to be from the start.
I still remember Jaap’s slogan when we were composing this song (he was going through a rough time):
“Don’t start your day with the broken pieces of yesterday, every morning we wake up, is the beginning of the rest of our life” therefore the title “Don’t look back”, do not continue to fill up your “bag” with worries or problems, because it makes your life impossible, and you can’t breath because there’s nothing positive left. 
My slogan is: “A true friend is someone who knows everything about you, and accept you anyway” 
True Friendship is what this song is all about, and the passion for music, and expressing your feelings and thoughts with every instrument you play, feel your own meaning of life or story when you listen to this song.

I also dedicate this song to the doctors and therapists, and share my gratitude towards them and all others who helped and supported me during my rehabilitation after my stroke, although I am not completely 100% yet, they gave me the tools, and guided me into the right direction, so I can continue recovering by myself.

Our story so far..........

'Sing for Clatterbridge' was started in 2012 with the release of the original single 'I Still Believe', by Matt Baker & John Styles. This song is our ongoing legacy to Clatterbridge, which we intend to release each year to continue our appeal.  
When we started this project in 2012, we hoped that over time this would become a popular Christmas song, which we could perform with other artists, making this song unique each year.
 
We are thrilled to announce that our dreams have come true, as we have re-recorded 'I Still Believe' this year in a totally new format with the help of some excellent musicians. But in addition to this our song has inspired other artists to contact us, who have not only offered their support, but donated some wonderful tracks!
 
So our 'Sing for Clatterbridge' single has grown in 2014, to become a full album of songs and instrumental pieces, which we have titled 'Love & Hope Forever'.
We are honored to feature tracks by:
Deborah Henriksson, Rebekah Vesey, Andreas Hoffmann and Ged Hodkinson

All proceeds from the sale of this album will be donated to: 'The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust', to provide assistance for the care of cancer patients and their families.
The Album will be released in November 2014 once we have finalized the recordings. We will provide regular updates regarding progress and availability of the album, 'Love & Hope Forever' over the coming weeks.

Hi There and welcome to my latest track, 'Broken Dreams'

As you may guess I'm sticking with the 'Aliens' Sci-fi theme with this one. 

In the second film, 'Aliens' 1986

Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is picked up as salvage after drifting through space in stasis for 57 years. After she's been treated she is debriefed by her employers at the Weyland-Yutani Corporation over the destruction of her ship, the Nostromo. She describes everything that happened, but they are skeptical of her claims that an Alien killed the ship's crew and forced her to destroy the ship.

She also discovers that whilst she was away, frozen in an  abnormally long hypersleep, her daughter had, grown up and sadly passed away. The pain of this is unbearable for Ripley as she had promised to only be away a short time. 

This part of the story always struck a chord with me, so I  decided it would be a challenge to try and create a piece that gave a sense of a restless, disturbed sleep, a homage to Ripley's broken dreams.

I've used a combination of electronic and orchestral sounds to get a nice atmospheric feel, an kind of ambient chill out track, but with a twist!

Matt Baker - Broken Dreams

Welcome to our new release ‘The Flight of an Eagle” the promised extended Orchestral version of the earlier released duet version called “The Eagle Fly” by Oliver Papke & John Styles.
We have changed the title as remarks were given that the translation German to English was not done right.

With this release Matt Baker joined us and he created the orchestral movement for this song, then John created an extra bridge, and multi layered all the instruments to keep all dynamics, and at the same time create a crescendo, so all instruments could be heard as an orchestra without a specific solo instrument even the piano becomes part of the total orchestra (intentionally).
In this mix we took out John’s piano, and replaced them with Matt’s piano, then we added more instruments 1 by 1, until they all sounded as one as we hoped they would.

This song arose when Oliver went for a walk with his wife, it was so quiet and peaceful, as they observed some birds, they felt free from the daily stress, back home he started playing on the piano to express this feeling.
Each of you might have had a similar experience, when you have your had full of stress and worry, you just want to forget about everything for a few minutes and feel free and relaxed.
With this piece we want to give you these few moments to relax and experience this relief and freedom.

Welcome to our new version of “A Story to be Told”, we asked Colin Powell aka  HYPERLINK "https://soundcloud.com/a-multitude-of-one" https://soundcloud.com/a-multitude-of-one to join us and make some guitar tracks for this song, which he did brilliantly as always.  John already had a idea for a new song, but he wasn’t satisfied with the verses only the chorus line and bridge were finished, and when he arrived in Bremen (to join Oliver), Oliver said that he also had a new idea “chorus line” for a new song, and when he played it, John said this would be an awesome verse instead of a chorus for his new song, so little changes were made to make their 2 ideas fit into this song, so our collaboration made us create a new song all along.

The motivation / reason behind this song was for both of us so similar, that it had to become 1 song.
We started with finishing the piano track first, then we tried to create some string tracks and harmonies for them, and by doing so they end up with a sort duet between Piano and Orchestra (the listeners said so too).
We will also try to make another duet between Piano and Guitar later on (work in progress).
Working together side by side we learned a lot from each other, and we understand each others music a lot better now as well, and we noticed by playing our ideas, we could sing along with our music although we never heard it before, that was a real surprise for us both too, which made it a lot easier to work together.
After we created / played all these tracks, John took them to Holland, and started creating all possible  harmonies, and the more this song developed the more it ended up into this “Duet” as we feel it is now.

We were both motivated to make this song, because of the stories shared with us by others, and also by our own experiences in life.
Many times people get disappointed by others or certain happenings makes you feel numb, it can be that you lost a loved one, or a relationship ended, or you’re not treated right for whatever the reason may be.
You want to react but you don’t know how, and as result nothing comes out right at all, misunderstandings become bigger, it’s almost like you feel trapped in your life, and it makes you feel worthless.
It can get so bad that you feel there is no way back, or it can’t be solved anymore, you keep everything inside and it starts to hurt you even more, and questions start to develop within yourself…….WHY????
It can get so bad that it starts to influence your daily life and it starts to feel you can’t get anything right and because of all these sorrow and worries you may think life is not worth living for anymore.

With this song we tried to create this conversation (story) till the bridge, at this intermezzo we try to create a peaceful harmony within yourself, and the last bit the re-assurance that no matter what the answer is always within yourself, there’s always a solution for everything or a shoulder to cry on is closer then you think.
Keeping everything inside is never a solution for anybody, only when your heart and soul is free and you are fully in harmony with yourself, nothing can stop you from being happy with your life.
We realise it’s a lot easier said then done, but any worry, grief, pain or sorrow is “A Story to be Told”

Welcome to our new cover song "Engel geh’n durchs Feuer" sung by Helene Fischer
Helene Fischer is a German pop singer, dancer and entertainer. With more than nine million albums sold, it is one of the most successful pop singers in Germany. Albums Farbenspiel and Best of Helene Fischer are among the best-selling music albums in Germany. Fischer has received numerous awards as a singer, including sixteen echoes and six Golden hens, and is also active in television. They presented since 2011 for Christmas The Helene Fischer show, which was awarded in 2015 with the Bavarian Television Award.
Oliver loved this song so much that he recorded it on piano, after sending several attempts back and forth too John, they decided to continue with this version, then Oliver continued making  several tracks with Strings, Choir, Flute and Violin, then John continued to work on them and created the harmonies with, and exchanged the instruments from other libraries.

Oliver Papke & John Styles - Engel Gehn Durchs Feuer

Welcome to another collab between John Styles and Colin Powell (aka https://soundcloud.com/a-multitude-of-one).

For me this song went through the weirdest development ever, I composed this song 30-5-15 for a school project, as Matt Baker and I were very busy with our Feng Shui project, I’ve send the 1st premix to Colin and asked him if he could add some guitars to it.
Colin send me a completely unexpected mix back for me to consider, without guitars (as to his opinion the guitars were already spot on) but he added beautiful flute and French horn to it instead.

At first this piece was motivated on the situation in the world with all the attacks and war everywhere.
Then I wanted to make this piece longer playing along with all the tracks, as I felt with the additional tracks from Colin I could also change the message into something beautiful, for example if you come at spots in the world where nature shows it’s splendour, the calmness and relaxing feeling you can get enjoying it.
But for some reason nothing worked, so I put this song aside as I wanted to try it later again.
But this song never left me alone, and I kept trying but for some reason whatever I did with those tracks nothing seem to work or sound alright to me.
Then I suffered from a mid-ear infection for 6 weeks, and couldn’t hear properly what I was doing (which frustrated me even more), I wasn’t able to perform proper productions anymore.
The more I tried the worse the song became, so after my ears started to get better, I took the original song, trying to find out what was going wrong all the time, as I never experienced this before.
I decided that I would listen to it over and over again, and trying to find the proper cover for the release, until it would hit me, I came across 2 pictures 1 as you can see now and 1 of me walking in the hills taken from behind.
Without going into detail, the latest developments and disappointments I had to go through in my life, finally gave this piece a meaning, and it also made me realize the song was ready all along.
I always tried to make music for others, to give comfort and bring positive emotions to them.
But to accomplish that, there’s always this moment that you’re “Numb” or “Speechless”, you’ve got no idea what hit you, first you have to go through that face, and to accept the facts that brought you there, then you can climb up, and find the right road to continue your life.
No matter what, accepting the truth (how hard it can be) is always better then a soaring wound, I tried my hardest to push those feelings away, like there was nothing going on, but it just made things worse.
It’s better to deal with those feelings and get them out in the open, so your inner wound can heal.
When I listen to this song myself, I can hear the Guitars, the Piano and the French Horn expressing all my sorrows and pain, and the Flute and Strings trying to comfort me and pulling me out of this painful thoughts.
It’s OK to be “Speechless” it’s a faze you have to go through, in the long run it will make you stronger.
The open ending I left in this piece (on purpose) is so that everybody can fill in their own story or meaning.
I am grateful to Colin for the 2 tracks he made, unintentionally those were exactly what this piece needed, at least I think so, and who knows I might pick up this song one more time and redo it all over again.

Whilst watching the news one night we were horrified by the terrible events that had occurred in the streets of London and around the world.
We felt such feelings of sadness that such terrible things happen to innocent people the world over and this compelled us to write something about our thoughts and pain.
We wish we could just carry people away from any harm, suffering or pain as we would hope to be carried away if something bad was to happening to us.
All members of 'Euphoriqa' have worked really hard to bring this track together and we hope it may carry you away also.

Euphoriqa - Carry me Away

Music has always been an integral part of my life. From my earliest memories, it has shaped how I express my emotions and bring my creative ideas to life. Whether it was hours spent with a slightly out-of-tune upright piano or strumming on my sister's guitar, I was hooked. While I struggled with traditional music theory and never quite mastered reading or writing music, my passion for sound and composition only grew.

My journey truly began with a Casio VL-Tone, a keyboard that allowed me to record simple melodies. Throughout my teenage years, I poured countless hours and resources into building my first collection of music gear, recording everything from theme songs to pop and punk covers with friends. In my early twenties, I played in several bands and immersed myself in the live music scene, which was a great experience but often came with late nights and long hours.

During this time, I also began exploring electronic music more seriously, acquiring my first proper setup: a Kawai keyboard, Technics sequencer, Alesis HR16 drum machine, and a Yamaha MT100 4-track recorder. These tools opened up new possibilities and inspired me to experiment with electronic music production and midi-based compositions.

A lifelong fan of science fiction, fantasy, and cinematic soundtracks, I soon found myself gravitating toward composing thematic music. Movies, being my second greatest passion, heavily influenced the direction of my creative work.

In my 30s, life’s demands shifted my focus toward career and family, but my love for music never waned. Entering my 40s, I had the opportunity to refocus, acquiring new gear and fully committing to my musical development. With the help of modern technology, I now have a home studio where I can bring my musical ideas to life with greater precision and depth.

My current setup includes a Korg Triton LE, Cubase 12, Nektar LE88, Steinberg UR824 interface, and an array of VSTs such as Kontakt, Halion Sonic SE, Retrologue, and EastWest Symphonic Choirs, among others. This home studio, built over nearly a decade, allows me to push creative boundaries and explore new sounds and compositions.

Based in Liverpool, I’m currently writing is almost every style. Rock songs for my band Inner Fire. Pop tracks inspired by the 80's and 90's. Theme music inspired by film and literature with the aspiration of one day scoring a full-length production. 

Since joining SoundCloud, I've had the privilege of connecting with talented musicians and creative minds from around the world. One of the most fulfilling collaborations has been with John Styles, where we’ve explored a wide range of musical genres. 

I’m also proud to serve as the principal composer for Music for Brains, a project dedicated to healing through music and creativity. Working on this project has been deeply rewarding, as it has allowed me to connect with individuals on an emotional level, crafting compositions inspired by their stories.

I’m always open to feedback and collaboration, as it helps me refine my craft. While working in the music industry is a dream, I am also a grateful family man, and the support of my loved ones plays a crucial role in fuelling my passion. I am thankful to have such a strong network of family and friends who encourage me to keep pursuing my musical ambitions.
