A crazily influential track of the 80s. Without this tack modern electronic music of today would not exist. So many amazing pieces to this and you have honoured it with great love. Do you know ..Bernard Sumnar could not afford a sequencer for the drum machine so he built his own. They use Donna Summer and Kraftwerk sample ideas too :) :) JUST BRILLIANT !!!

Hi there and welcome to my latest track, 'NEW ORDER Blue Monday a Tribute'

This track is perhaps one of the most inspiring and played pieces of music from my teenage years. I remember the first time I heard it on my sisters record player, I rushed into my room and grabbed my Casio or Yamaha Keyboard a desperately tried to play it. I soon picked up most the melodies, but in those days lacked the equipment to do much with it, other than layering tracks using 2 tape recorders and playing live over the top. (Thank God I haven't got any of those recordings anymore LOL!)

I've always wanted to tray and do a cover, but up until now have never managed to get anywhere close to something that sounds OK. I still not 100% happy with this, but thought I'd release it as see if anyone can help me with some feedback.

Background
New Order's fifth single. A milestone, both by musical standards and by design standards. Sold over 1 million copies globally. But because at the time of release, Factory weren't part of the BPI, there are no reliable figures nor certifications or awards. 
Initial editions were released in March 1983 with die-cut cover and cut outs and a thick silver inner sleeve, designed by Peter Saville. 
Cover variations: Die-cut with cut-outs, die-cut without cut-outs, plain printed. 
Inner sleeve variations: Thick glossy silver, thin matte silver, thick glossy black or thin matte black. 
All bear the colour code, spelling "FAC 73 Blue Monday And The Beach New Order". 
There is a common misconception that Factory lost money on the release due to the design. The sleeve did cost so much that it actually denied Factory an extra profit of just under 1 UK Pence on each copy sold. But demand and production cost and timings meant that the sleeve became progressively more simple with each repressing. 

Peaked at #9 in the UK Single charts and at #1 in the UK Indie Charts.

Soap&Skin - Me and the Devil

I've always been interested in music, even from my earliest memories it has played an important part of how I relate to my feelings and express my imagination. From hours spent playing an old, slightly out of tune, upright piano and plucking away on my sisters guitar I was hooked.  Through school I struggled to learn music theory and to be honest still can't read or write music, but during this time I got my first introduction to the Casio VL tone calculator that could be used as a keyboard for recording short tunes. During my teenage years all of my spare time and money was spent buying gear and covering theme tunes, pop songs and punk rock on various home keyboards and old guitars with my friends. In my early 20’s I jammed and played with several bands, hung round pubs and clubs and lived it up, great times, but long nights. During this period I also continued to further explore electronic music, and purchased my first half decent kit was acquired, Kawai Keyboard, Technics Sequencer, Alesis Drum Machine and a Yamaha 4 track. Being in a Band gave way to developing my own music and I experimented with dance music and the almost endless possibilities that midi music could provide. Having always been a keen fan of Sci-fi and Fantasy it wasn't long before theme music became the primary focus as I spent nearly all the time I wasn't playing music listening to soundtracks as Movies are perhaps my 2nd biggest passion. My 30’s gave way to my career, marriage and family with only minor time spent developing ideas. In my 30’s into 40’s have provided me with an opportunity to acquire new gear, take stock of old ideas and finally, with the aid of the information revolution, launch a new attack on writing and producing music.

Now I have my home studio, which I have spent nearly 10 years developing, I am able to realise my ideas to the full. Current set up includes: Korg Triton le, Cubase 6.5, Tascam US-600, and my guitar & bass, VST's Alchemy, Halion SE, Retrologue, Embracer, Spector, Padshop pro II, Shavanis Elven Choir, Magnus Choir, Kontakt 5, EWQL Symphonic Choirs Gold & EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Gold.

Now working on ideas from my home studio in Liverpool, I am keen to develop my interest in soundtrack for TV & film and hope to one day to have to opportunity to be given the task of writing a full musical score.

Since joining Soundcloud I've been fortunate to make contact with some excellent new friends and musicians from all over the world.

I hope you enjoy my creations and would really appreciate and comments and feedback as this helps me to understand what's working best. Although its fair to say I'd love to work in the music industry one day, I am primarily a very happy family man, who is fortunate to have a wonderful, loving family, which gives me a full heart. I thank my family and friends for their endless support for my music and for encouraging  my passion and enthusiasm to do more.
