Dear Matham, it is evident that music feeds on our feelings, but also of our suffering; the presentation of your song is very significant and it is a difficult script of a film unfortunately real but supported by a wonderful soundtrack. This is a collection of solo piano compositions and improvisations that began with a piece written for my boyfriend (El Amor De Mi Vida).  Only the first half of that piece has been recorded to my satisfaction but leaving the recorder running while I allowed myself to play around (or get lost) at the keys for a few days left me with several other pieces to go along with it.  The recordings have a couple imperfections but I wanted to post and share them anyway.  Thanks for listening!

I recorded this improvisation at a moment in my life where one major chapter had just ended and the next one hadn't yet began.  In October 2014 I lost my home and the man I love.  I spent the next few weeks fading away on a friend's couch until I needed to be taken to a hospital.  After a week in the hospital my family flew me back to the east coast where I spent the next month recovering.  When I returned to Los Angeles I had no home, no money, no job and I was alone.  All I had was my car, my keyboard and a little storage unit which I would be quite content never to step foot in again.  At first I thought I had nowhere to go except the streets or to move back to CT.  I was sitting at my keyboard trying to figure things out when realized by having almost nothing I could go anywhere and do anything.  I decided in that moment I was moving to San Diego.  I spent most of my last couple days in Los Angeles at my keyboard.  This was the last song I wrote before driving south.

"Of What's to Come" is a project where I use the piano to explore the future - what lies ahead - instead of the present or past.   Unlike "Words Fail Me", in which each track captures some part of my life that has already been written, each track of "Of What's to Come" is a daydream, fantasy or  story about a part of my life that still* lies ahead.

My piano is my voice.  I started recording these compositions and improvisations a few years ago when I wanted to tell someone how much I love them and no words were sufficient.  In the process of writing and recording that piece, I decided to start recording my random improvisations as well (which despite having played most of my life, I've never done before).  That was the beginning of my first set, "Words Fail Me" and this page.
