The track was created in collaboration on 30 December 2021 and 4 January 2022 (initial and subsequent mix and recording in GarageBand and Logic Pro X by Alex M), 5 January and 23 January 2022 (further additions, arrangement, mix and recording in MAGIX by Roberto B), and 29 January 2022 (final additions, arrangement, mix and recording in GarageBand and Logic Pro X by Alex M), and posted here on SoundCloud on 30 January 2022 (by Alex M).

The artwork cover for the track zooms into one part/section of an oil painting by Roberto B of 4 January 2022, and was cropped and annotated with text by Alex M (in Mac OS Preview) on 5 January 2022 - in coordination and agreement with Roberto B.

life is a journey and music is my soundtrack to it ,i wrote this song traveling around south Portugal at the start of summer 2022 and at the tail end of a 2 year pandemic when travel was no longer possible or an option ..
I hope i have captured some of the energy and sights and sounds of this trip and found signs of life

I started work on this track almost 2 years ago just as we were going into lockdown. Unfortunately I developed a hearing problem in my left ear that required surgery so had to take a step back, can you imagine no music throughout lockdown!!!!!!!  anyhow finally things are good now, thankfully.
                 I hope you like this R&B styled track, this is the first of 2 I was working on!! I have been working Frantically like a robot to get it mixed...hence robot mix.... I also added a robotic count in because I'm nuts!!!! thankyou for all the support!!!

I found this track in my archives recently was done a long time ago......I do not write many love songs, not a very good writer of love songs ..This song was  written by William Bell an American singer and songwriter , also covered by loads of artists globally  , however ,this my "own" version . ..This was "one of the 1st song" I posted on SC maybe 10 yrs ago or more but i took down all my songs in 2016  now obviously its uploaded again ......... This song first entered my mind while I was comparing translations of the poetry of the remarkable Song dynasty poet Li Qingzhao.

	The attraction I have to Li Qingzhao's work is twofold - firstly: the sheer power of her expression, which speaks to me through each and every translation (some translations being so different that I often fail to recognize them as being the same poem) - secondly: her “Ci” poetry, is, for all practical purposes, songwriting.   “Ci” poetry began as lyrics to be sung to tunes both popular and original, not unlike the “12 bar blues” or “rock and roll” songs of the modern world.

	The imagery used in this song largely comes from her Ci poem “Banana Trees”, but should in no way be thought of as a translation - I do not pretend to have that kind of scholarship or talent.   It is, at best, a re-working of theme and image for a contemporary context.

	I do not know the original source of the cover art I have used here, but I found it at http://www.chinesetimeschool.com/en-us/articles/li-qingzhao/.   There are no extent images of Li Qinqzhao from her own time.

Firstly on easy listening 6/4 bars, I cut some notes out of the main theme so as to give it dynamism, and finally obtained a prime amalgam of 17 quarter notes. I hid any recognizable thing in the accompaniment, and for the organic lines (voice and guitars) I tried the strong rhythm would not fix too much the melodies, first paying a lot of attention, and finally ... just letting me go.
