After DJing at friends leaving party at the deaf institute basement bar in Manchester on a warm bank holiday Sunday evening in May, messrs Kofi Asiaw and Craig Campbell saw huge potential in the venue for a regular monthly event. 

The small, warm, dark atmosphere generated in the wee space below the music hall and bar upstairs brought back memories of partying in nightclubs whilst having the homely feel of an old school house party.

Craig (aka The Oracle) playing a collection of the souliest of soul from his thousands of tracks gathered through many years of crate digging, magazine reading and internet surfing. 

With Kofi (aka Mr A) following up with a mix of hiphop and the deepest of deep house to leave the patrons of the basement leaving with a smile on their faces and a warm fuzzy feeling in their hearts.

Carl Wright (aka Dub) brings it home with some of the most free flowing funk that you can jack your body too since New York City was rocking it in the 70’s.

A capacity of only 70 people guarantees that you will not be lost in the midst of the evening as the DJs and the sound system is close enough to draw you into a mesmeric joyful trance.

Bar service is excellent as it is a hop-skip and jump away from the furthest seating in the basement and the toilets are no more than five yards away.

So now everything is in place and the admission is only £5 (advance) and £6 (On the door). 

What to do on the last Friday of the month is a no-brainer....

No 1 resident at the fantastic Love Dose parties in Manchester. Josimar has been lighting up dancefloors across the country, his love for the deep knows no bounds.

His first EP LDR001 as one of production duo MOTIF, earned rave reviews from the likes of James Zabiela, Justin Martin and KOMON (AUS).

He is also a quarter of the Love Dose record label and there is a lot more music that you'll be hearing from him and them in the near future.
