Description: The camera lucida projects an optical superimposition of the subject being viewed, onto the surface upon which the artist is drawing. The artist sees both scene and drawing surface simultaneously, as in a photographic double exposure. This allows the artist to duplicate key points of the scene on the drawing surface, thus aiding in the accurate rendering of perspective.

"Solvitur Ambulando (Spring version)" is a new piano based single from Matt Mereport (out now !). The piece is named after the Latin phrase “Solvitur Ambulando”, meaning "it is solved by walking". 

It was influenced by the mental relief a walk (urban, countryside or otherwise) can create in these hectic, stressful and anxious times we’re in. 

The piece was released to coincide with this year’s Piano Day (29th March) organised by Nils Frahm. "Solvitur Ambulando (Spring version)" is included on the official Piano Day Spotify playlist, curated by Nils. It’s also available on the usual streaming and download sites.

Fresh off the back of his latest EP ‘Dead Beat Poet’, Martin Badder teams up with critically acclaimed singer- songwriter Katey Brooks and dance hit writer Katie Marne (Judge Jools, Lange) to deliver his next big single on BADDER Label.

‘Who Am I' explores the stark emotions of unrequited love, weaving its way into the euphoria of freedom in surrender through breakbeats, moody pads and driving bass lines to deliver a moving track that will have you tearing up and dancing in equal measure.

Badder is a classically trained, electronic music producer and DJ, who writes emotive and deep, dance-floor oriented beats. With recent support from Radio 6 Music’s Tom Ravenscfoft, Deb Grant and Craig Charles, plus previous radio support includes Radio 1’s key dance tastemakers, Martin's momentum is building and marks a perfect time to be releasing with such a talented vocalist as Katey Brooks.

Brooks is a UK-based singer, songwriter and producer whose vocals have featured on records with Brian May (Queen), Bill Wyman (Rolling Stones), Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) and Paloma Faith. Her music has been used in the West End, TV and film, earning her several Best Original Song awards at independent film festivals. She has had radio play from BBC Radio 1, 2, and 6music, as well as Canada’s CBC, Jazz FM, and Amazing Radio.

Martin has had his own music remixed by the likes of John Digweed, Bob Sinclar and Hayden James, and has himself re-mixed house music royalty, Basement Jaxx. Martin has collaborated with some of the most renowned vocalists in house, including Clementine Douglas, Roland Clark and Robert Owens to name just a few.

Over the last few years Martin has performed at Printworks and numerous warehouse raves, appearing on lineups with the likes of Gorgon City, Sahsa and Dusky. This summer will see Badder performing at numerous UK festivals in including a headline, main stage live show at 'On The Road Festival' as well as select club bookings throughout the year.

Matt Mereport emerged from the Manchester ship canal to set up home on a small wooded northern hilltop. Armed with a guitar, voice and electronics he creates what he refers to as “music” though many disagree with this tag. Sometimes it’s heavily electronic, sometimes it’s heavily acoustic. Sometimes it’s heavily weighted. It tends to change from day to day. Much like his socks.
