Matt Walsh’s Clouded Vision Recordings presents their biggest EP to date with two peak time tracks from one of the figureheads of the French electronic scene. Backed with remixes from the label owner himself alongside Get Physical regular and head of Lithuania’s “Best Kept Secret”, Vidis.

Remote’s first release partnering Jennifer Cardini in 2005 as “Jenny Goes Dirty” warmly welcomed them to France’s label of the moment, “Kill The Dj”. The EP included a cover of the classic ‘Amoureux Solitaire’ and was picked up by the cream of the electro & techno crop including Tiga, James Holden, Tiefschwarz, Chloe & Ivan Smagghe. The duo have since recorded on an array of French imprints including Meant, Fondation, Tigersushi and Gesaffelstein’s “Zone”.

The A-side, Alcyone, is highlighted by an infectious synth hook blended with a powerful bass-line to create the most unique and stand-out record Clouded Vision Recordings have released.  The second track, “Talk” is more of a jacking house affair, yet still full of John Carpenter infused melodies that build throughout it’s 9 minute existence.

With Matt’s most recent original material released on Kill The DJ, a remix from the label owner paved way for a perfect fit.  He lowers the tempo and adds a rolling 303 acid line to craft a late night groove, perfect for the more discerning floors.  Fresh from releases on “Get Physical” with production partner Mario Basanov, Vidis opts for a homage to French new wave by giving “Talk” an abundance of funk and sex appeal.

Londoner Aidan Lavelle and Mexican producer Robbie Akbal were responsible for the sweet, tropical-tinged groover 'Solaris Nights' this summer. 

Regarding their own work, Lavelle's a regular on Crosstown Rebels offshoot Rebellion, with three 12"s on the label in 2012 and 2013, while Akbal lays claim to pushing lush house on No. 19, Get Physical, Supernature and his own Akbal Music.

Hot Creations call upon VIVa boss Steve Lawler for their next release, rounding 2014 off with a bang - an amazing year for the leading label. With such a widespread knowledge of music and the industry, here Lawler gives us a musical education. ‘House Record’ is a dose of old school 80s house injected with a modern twist with ‘City Nights’ following suit on the B-side. There is no doubt both tracks will dominate the dance floor at peak time, capturing each heart with their infectious bouncing bass-lines, pacey percussions and all round feel good energy. This is proving to be a huge release for Hot Creations and Steve, featuring heavily in Jamie, Richy, Lee and Steve’s set’s… this is seriously HOT!

Steve’s music can be found on highly respected labels such as R&S Record, Drumcode, Cocoon, OVUM, Rekids, Soma, and of course his own imprint VIVa MUSiC. He also has a huge release dropping on Seth Troxler’s Play It Say It at the end of this year. Remixes of high proﬁle artists such as Jamelia, Dido and Justin Timberlake can also be found. Head of the respected VIVa MUSiC, Lawler founded the label in 2006 and has featured artists such as Reboot, Jamie Jones, Davide Squillace, Luca Bacchetti, Bushwacka, Plasmik, Ripperton, Peace Division, Tiefschwarz and many more.

Da Sunlounge & Inland Knights - Yeah Yeah Yeah

Making their anticipated return on the Los Angeles-based Superfreq imprint, Jonra & e:machinery have turned in one helluva mind trip via their Medicine Man EP release. Filling out the darker and headier areas of dance music, the production pair powers through a brain-blistering, five-track package that carries cerebral software and analog framework of the highest degree. Pulling most of the weight of this release is the title cut, which sees the duo construct an aural maze that’s carefully strung together from bits of psychic spoken word, cinematic pads, driving basslines and spacey synth structures. Jonra & e:machinery take things to the next level with this introspective, cosmically in-tune techno track. Spoiler alert: It’s a keeper.

Last week you could hear Poupon's remix on our very own DHA Records' first release. Next up is a sneak peek at André Lodemann's rework of 'Crumble'.

Crumble by Marlon Hoffstadt is a powerful, almost spiritual slow-burner. Its composition is built around stripped-back percussion and a dreamy, repetitive electric guitar strum. With vocals and guitar work by UK lo-fi band Racquet, the structure breathes an ambient touch that sticks with you long after the music has faded.

First up is ‘Disturbing the Peace’, a track full off dirty basslines and grime-y vocals laid out in a brilliantly dark ambiance made just for the late night dance floor. ‘The Reality of It’ continues the energy with a deep bass line under crisp and full percussion. The various synth elements work together to create a thick tension throughout the track, leaving us completely ready for ‘’Night Games’, a track with a similar vibe all wrapped up in a lush and funky groove, rife with Acid influences. Rounding off the EP, Third Son brings thick, sharp saw pads to his remix of ‘Disturbing the Peace’ to give it another shot of energy, creating a peak time track ready for the floor.

After the unbridled success that was "Volkwein", Super Flu's collaboration with The Dortmund Philharmonic, the always on point Monberry label now revisits the package with the help of some fine contemporary remixers, namely Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Monkey Safari and Bebetta.

Super Flu, aka Herzblut Recordings regulars and German pair Felix Thielemann & Mathias Schwarz, really conjured up some magic with the original so these remixes, which reinterpret in fine style, are more than welcome.

First up are Kollektiv Turmstrasse, a rare act that infuse their sound with something more - extra soul, depth and meaning. On their remix of the title track, they go for a trademark deep, brooding and slowly unfolding vibe with subtle synth modulations, buried drums and a rising sense of tension.

The curious and off kilter German duo Monkey Safari are up next. First they rework 'Bratzke' with a sensitive sense of touch. Underlapping, rubbery drums roll below churchy and hymnal chords. Softly spoken vocals add intimacy and you can see this one really making for quite a moment on the right dance floor. Secondly, they serve up a digital bonus remix of the same track that makes less use of the vocal and places plenty of emphasis on their lush arrangement and true sense of musicality.

Lastly we have Bebetta, a playful producer who infuses her music with charming melody and a real sense of personality. She has also recently won the Tresor Newcomer Award for her impressive DJ sets around Berlin. Her version of 'Volkwein' is patient and spacious. Glowing harmonically it soothes mind body and soul with playful patterns and clever use of filters.

This EP is an elegant and magical release that proves house music can be so much more than a physical and functional thing, and can instead stir real emotion when in the right hands.
