I can still remember cycling our way home after a night pubbing with Sjoerd in the summer of 2013, right after we listened to LS together for the very first time. We knew this had to be the next Nous'klaer. Late 2014 I completed this record by finishing 1001. 

Often referred to as ‘The Pig’ and rarely spotted without shades, Mike ‘Aardvarck’ Kivits has remained a compelling figurehead within the Dutch underground for some two decades now, happily flitting between downtempo and high octane styles from release to release and generally sounding like no-one else out there. Now residing in the Indonesian paradise province of Bali, Kivits has developed a strong affiliation with the Skudge Records operation which commenced with his humongous remix of the Swedish act’s “Convolution” in 2010.

Having committed two full 12″ releases to the Skudge Presents cause, news now arrvies of a full Aardvarck long player on the label. Due for release in September, the cryptically-titled Co In Ci features eight new Aardvarck productions from Kivits and represents the ninth album the Dutch producer has released in the 13 years since his 2002 debut LP for Delsin, Find The Cow.

On Kindred Phenomena Mattheis picks up where he left off: 'Swell' serves as another episode of the prisms, the modular synth excursion of 'Bit Fragments' pushes his arpeggiator solos a step further, and album standout 'Ben_M' provides his most beautiful dance of melodies yet. The album consists of eight tracks and comes as a double 12 inch for deejay convenience; and for the ultimate experience: go see Mattheis perform his album live on the road."

キマタジュン a.k.a Jun Kimata is a sound designer based in Tokyo specializing in acid techno music. His debut album "silo" released in 2012 by Denryoku Label is a mystic journey through this style and we are pleased to announce his Shape Of MY Voice EP - a continued exploration of his signature sound, full of pleasant psychedelic surprises around every corner. On remix duties and hot off his recent Forbidden Colours release, we recruited Andres Aguirre who provides a trippy techno joint to spice things up.

Following the release of his debut record “A Louder Silence” last October on Late Night Lates, Leifur James returns with his new single ‘Wurlitzer’ ahead of a run of dates including a headline show at The Southbank Centre in late March.

Leifur’s debut fused ambient electronica, jazz, classical and soul music, a recording process which was over a 2 year period. ‘Wurlitzer’ is the first piece of music he reveals from a new creative period after those sessions.

“’Wurlitzer’ was kind of a break away from the ambience of the album.” says Leifur. “I was wanting to corrupt the mood of the album with something a bit intense and destructive. I guess there was an unusual balance there for creating something new but in a bit of a destructive mind-set.” 

“I’d been staying at my dad’s in the winter months, he lives in the middle of a rural pre historic stone circle, its quite an intense place in winter. I was playing on the old upright wurlitzer piano there and the wind was shaking the house, I could hear it aggressively whistling in the chimney. The contrast of the wind with the piano was interesting and gave me the idea.” 

The video was created by animator/director Balázs Simon. “We spoke about the video and this balance of creation and destruction in the music. The theme for the video being the duality of creation; creation and destruction and the cross over point between those.” The result is ravishing 4 minutes of piano-fused electronica haunted by ecological currents.
