"Luminous Frames" was recorded over a timespan of three years. I finished the project early 2014 by recording "Volumetric Shadows", and I am both happy and honoured to have been working with Ecstatic Recordings to release the limited 90 cassettes early 2015.

"Ecstatic is proud to welcome new signing Mattheis to the label. Having already gained many fans for his work on the Clone affiliated Nous'Klaer label, Mattheis now graduates to his first full length, entitled 'Luminous Frames’. 

Expanding on the promise of his earlier work, his hallucinogenic arpeggio explorations call to mind the synth driven kosmiche sounds of late 70s and early 80s Germany, this Klaus Schulze, Cluster, Harald Grosskopf and Manuel Gottsching as well as contemporaries James Holden and Steve Moore. ‘Luminous Frames’  takes the listener on an ethereal drift through five masterfully constructed soundscapes of billowing synth drones and enveloping sequences. 

- White cassette with 12-panel J-card newsprint paper. Limited to 50 copies. SOLD OUT!! 

- Second and final re-press on black cassette 40 copies.

I can still remember cycling our way home after a night pubbing with Sjoerd in the summer of 2013, right after we listened to LS together for the very first time. We knew this had to be the next Nous'klaer. Late 2014 I completed this record by finishing 1001.

Kindred Phenomena marks @Mattheis’ debut album. After two cosmic EPs on Nous’klaer and a mini-album on tape for Ecstatic Recordings, he now returns to Nous’klaer for his first full story. On Kindred Phenomena Mattheis picks up where he left off: ‘Swell’ serves as another episode of the prisms, the modular synth excursion of ‘Bit Fragments’ pushes his arpeggiator solos a step further, and album standout ‘Ben_m’ provides his most beautiful dance of melodies yet. The album consists of eight tracks and comes as a double 12 inch for deejay convenience; and for the ultimate experience: go see Mattheis perform his album live on the road.
