So.... Nordic Music Export asked me to do a little mix or playlist.
After picking out almost 100 records and not knowing how to attack this(though I know some people would have enjoyed hearing Pekka Pohjola, Sigur Ros, Dungen, Buki Yamaz and Terje Rypdal shoehorned together)I decided to concentrate entirely on swedish exotica and mostly quite recent and uptempo stuff. This is not meant as a full overview or representation of what's going down just a few of my favourite things to come out of Sweden.

Bay Area-based DJ/Producer Hart Thorson came up DJing in the venerable Midwest electronic
music scene. Having played every genre imaginable, he’s curated a unique sound and style.
His love of all things deep, emotive, and dancefloor-focused shines through with his groovy, raw,
and crunchy style of dub techno.

To date, Hart has released music on his own Hannya Musique imprint along with labels such as

"Before I fell in love with deeper, dubby music, I crafted a sound characterized by
driving rhythms, powerful drums, and distorted melodies. Never satisfied with the typical pretty
and fluffy trance music popular among many artists, I blended the best elements of darker
melodies, hard-hitting techno grooves, and occasional Latin influences.
In my early days as a DJ, I developed a unique sound that was distinctive for its time. I
combined rolling techno basslines with epic melodies, creating a signature aggressive trance
style. Although there were many moments that inspired “hands in the air” reactions, these were
balanced by a strong foundation of crunchy rhythms and powerful drums.
This mix captures what made my early days as a trance DJ special. It’s high-energy,
sweat-inducing, dark, and epic. Things get heavier and heavier the deeper you venture into this
one. It should be played at full volume for your neighbors to enjoy."

We are very proud that we are allowed to release this great record. The swedish producer has provided us with these 5 fantastic atmospheric tracks for release. The EP will be available as 100 limited coloured vinyl in a great colour and the classic black one.
The picture of the cover was taken by the artist himself with an analogue camera. The design was done by the legendary Alex Ketzter. Look forward to what's coming.
