" Dedicated to & inspired by the people in my life. Each track is named after someone who I feel has made a huge impact on my life & the way I see the world. I got sounds that reminded me of them (favorite songs,movie scenes,etc.) and made tracks from those samples after I would spend time with them..talk to them..or even just think of them. I tried to put whatever emotion I had from those moments into song form. During the time I was making this project I had a lot of things going on with my life..working on these songs helped me get my mind off everything. It was great because I didn't have to leave my own room to go to another place,all I had to do was close my eyes and listen. It was a fun idea that turned into a whole project that helped me more than I thought it was. I'm happy to share it with you. LA-based producer, https://soundcloud.com/ducky, releases her three-track EP, 'Lost Angeles', today on NEST.

Since her early teenage years, DUCKY has been fully immersed in club culture. She worked the door and started off her DJ career in San Francisco with the help of a fake ID before dropping out of high school at 17 and heading to NYU where she continued working on her own music. Over the last few years, she’s built a catalog of original works and remixes which mirror her influences in grime, techno, experimental, ambient, footwork and more, with her original productions often featuring her own distinct vocals.

This year, following a move to LA and a recent EP release through Parisian imprint B.YRSLF DIVISION, DUCKY continues to shape her sound with a new EP on NEST. The upcoming three-track Lost Angeles pack is a scenic stroll through winding four-four environments, eventually landing at the crisp foothills of "Winter Song" — a track whose expressive aesthetic could easily fit within the setlists of artists like Jamie xx and Four Tet.

Spending hours, days, months, etc., crafting a collage of samples into a cohesive piece of new music is awesome art, and one Shawn Wasabi (@sssshawnnnn) is quickly becoming a master at. Aside from creating new melodic themes from found fragments of hundreds of different songs, he also performs and records each work live. You may have seen one of Shawn’s many multi-million breaking Youtube videos, but not many know these are each performed in one take. The kid’s a legend, and he’s one of the first to be pushing a cute, bubbly and hyper sound to a bigger audience in the states. We’re stoked to be sharing Shawn’s NEST HQ MiniMix with y’all today.
