There were pistol shots ringing in the hollows of the valley
Shot two men dead or maybe it was three
I had to flee, I had to flee 

There was still whiskey on my breath when I entered into town
Was followed by the ghosts of all the men that I shot down
Trying to hide the blood on my sleeves
No angel grieves, no angel grieves 

I was in the tavern when I first saw your face
You passed by the window with unfettered grace
I was an arrow and I took to aim
I asked your name, I asked your name 

We first made love among the silence of the trees
Your velvet skin tasted like the salt of the seas
With the hum of Cicadas setting the tone
I wasn't alone, I wasn't alone 

It didn't take long for you to run with me
Like wolves among men we thought we were free
Hand and hand drifting wherever we may roam
I felt atoned, I felt atoned

I taught you how to shoot below the mountain range
You taught me many things mostly that I could change
Now I can ignore the beast at the door
I couldn't before, l couldn't before 

At the edge of Colorado I asked for your name
The Cicadas were our witnesses and my heart was aflame
Used a sheet for a dress and all we had for a ring
Was a string, was a string 
     
They must have tracked us down by the smoke from our fire
We set the field ablaze and watched the flames rise higher
We fought like hell but you took a bullet to the head
You were dead, you were dead

We live in a world of ghosts. We are the graven image of ourselves printed in our mind.

I was drawn to dig In the rabbit hole by my lifetime passion for LoFi decadent and psychedelic altPop when I ran into an inspired letter I had received a couple of years back which just recently became a song.
This song.

It's an hymn to freedom from everything. It's all or nothing.
This song is a battle for the future. It's all about love and death.
