Amiga Power, the mightiest computer games magazine ever conceived by human beings, is making a comeback in musical form – a double-CD album packed to bursting with brand new Amiga game music remixes, all of them inspired by The Magazine With Attitude.

The first disc will feature remixes based on tunes personally selected by former AP contributors, while the second disc will contain tracks based on games and demos given away on the magazine's coverdisks over the years.

This clip comes from disc one, and will likely be familiar to Amiga owners everywhere, since Cannon Fodder was one of the most successful and popular games ever released for the format, and its music was particularly memorable. Narcissus, the track that accompanies the game's notorious Boot Hill sequence, was originally written by Jon Hare in his teens as a lament for a lost love. For the AP album, Andrew Barnabas has produced a remarkable new arrangement with Jon providing the vocals, alongside a 10-piece string section conducted by Steve Bingham, Louis Thorne on guitars and bass, and Alex Reeves on drums. The full track also includes a trumpet solo from Gareth Williams and a violin solo courtesy of Mark ‘TDK’ Knight, and by ingenious means Andrew has managed to work in a flute solo from the late, great Ben Daglish, adding an extra note of poignancy to an already highly emotionally-charged piece.
