Epica is a sweeping, cinematic journey through sound — a richly layered, emotionally expansive album that fuses ambient electronica, Berlin-school sequencing, and science fiction themes into a single immersive experience.

Crafted by Texas-based composer Keith Richie, Epica builds upon the legacy of his prior work (Ambient Highways, Skylines, For the Willow Wept...) and draws clear inspiration from ambient and electronic greats such as Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Carbon Based Lifeforms, and John Carpenter. But what sets Epica apart is its deeply narrative structure — an album that plays like the score to an epic sci-fi or fantasy film that exists only in the listener’s imagination.

Each track serves as a chapter in a larger story: from the ethereal swell of “Remote Isolation” and the meditative pulse of “Rebirth,” to the childlike wonder of “Tiny Creatures” and the twilight tension of “Dusk.” The album peaks with the soaring title track “Epica,” where layered synths, cinematic drums, and Mimi Page’s haunting vocals conjure visions of interstellar heroism. The closing track, “There Are Other Worlds Than These,” named after Richie’s own publishing label and referencing Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, delivers a powerful finale — triumphant, textured, and emotionally resonant.

Like a great novel, Epica is filled with both wonder and tension, beauty and darkness. It’s music built not just for listening, but for feeling — perfect for dreaming, writing, reading, or escaping into other worlds. We are very proud to present the third installment of our "Chillout Sessions" series, a collection of elegant, relaxing, and profound new tracks, once again compiled and mixed by Silk Music's chillout ambassador Gorm Sorensen. This time around, Gorm is pleased to share mixing duties with Silk Music veteran Sundriver, the acclaimed melodic progressive maestro. Sundriver has contributed three brand new original compositions of his own to "Chillout Sessions 03," all of which evince his uncanny penchant for (breathtaking) atmospheric textures and lush melody lines. It is an absolute treat to experience the fruits of his long-overdue sonic experiments in this genre. Silk Music fans will also recognize this album's many other veteran contributors -- The Cynic Project, Blugazer, State Azure, ElDera, Approaching Black, Delectatio, Stan Chetverikov, Sound Quelle, Veeshy, Inuuro, and Manu Zain -- while Hannah Sumner and swoof make lovely first-time appearances on our label.

The fifteen chillout & downtempo tunes that comprise "Chillout Sessions 03" seamlessly blend together and coalesce throughout this (nearly) two-hour mix. Consequently, the listener is freed from the "prison of the self" and is set adrift on a transportive aural voyage that often proves blissful, stirring, and, above all, therapeutic.

Moscow bound producer Dave Shtorn is working his way back onto the scene after a lengthy break from it. We are of course truly happy and thrilled to see him back again, working on progressive music and choosing to send PHW Elements his music for release. 

Through “Winter Flowers” you will get an outstanding journey of sounds. He is building something really smooth and special as this is a fair trade of melodic elements and superb layering. We absolutely love everything about this original and we can’t do less than to recommend you to check this fantastic progressive journey out. 

On remix duty, long time friend of us, Canada based Lessov makes his way back to our ever growing PHW family. He’s one that we always held high as a producer as he always delivered in full flare and with his creativity flowing. This is another winner from him. Keeping the melodic flow from the original but building another groove through his remake. It’s so warm and driven and we are so delighted to see him back on the PHW Elements label. 

Last but not least we see a return on the label from Australia, Sydney based in fame rising producer Matt Rowan. He is a producer that we have always been a fan of. With his deeper textures, still with that melancholic and driven melodic layers, he surely is a match to the music that we so deeply are in love with on the label. This is no different to that as he has nailed it from start to finish once again.

Dave Shtorn - Winter Flowers (Original Mix)

Multi-platinum selling producer, composer, musician, and DJ, Matt Lange challenges categorization; equipped with an instinctual ear for creating music and an insatiable drive to explore the aural spectrum.

Lange’s career began working alongside multi-instrumentalist and producer Brian Transeau (BT), co-producing the album "These Hopeful Machines," earning him a Grammy Award-nomination in 2011. Matt then went on to co-write and produce Glenn Morrison’s "Goodbye (feat. Islove)" which was nominated as Dance Recording of the Year at the 2015 Juno Awards and later hit double platinum. Most recently, Lange was a producer on the Thirty Seconds To Mars album "AMERICA," which debuted #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

An adept music composer, and sound designer, Lange has created and licensed works for the blockbuster films Ready Player One, Blade Runner 2049, Deadpool 2, The Fast & Furious 8, and Transformers: The Last Knight along with video game franchises Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, and DOTA II.

As an artist, Matt Lange has released records with some of the most influential electronic dance music labels in the industry such as Anjunabeats, mau5trap, and Armada and has performed across esteemed venues and festivals like Output, Sound Nightclub, Ministry of Sound, TomorrowWorld, EDC, and SXSW. Unburdened by genre and trends, the signature of Lange’s work is the relentless devotion to pushing music into the future.

Matt is also the host of Tap Tempo, a podcast which features insightful interviews with peers and collaborators ranging from A-list composers to DJs and includes artists from all backgrounds.
