...Fennec&amp; Wolf. It´s a project of the Cologne-based DJ Mourad Kehailia, who is following his citys techno tradition with his fresh and powerful sounds. He doesn’t simply ruminate the Rheinish techno establishment - with his sound hes chosen a different path. A path that makes his music stand out as something unique. Stripped down to it’s essentials, it excels at one of electronic music’s prime functions: to make people dance. Where other producers start getting dodgy and lose themselves in sound patterns that appear more like mathematical equations, Fennec &amp; Wolf focus on what he loves most about electronic music: letting those beats sprawl all over the urban dance floors and creating an atmosphere where we can forget everything else around ourselves. His recipe is straight forward: putting all the joy and affection he has for electronic music into his productions and sets, using clean rhythms and driving house sounds. The result creates a constant high among their audiences - something that one would not expect to find in conventional club music. “This should be played at high volume”, says the intro of the Fennec &amp; Wolf track “Losmachen” - a claim that couldn’t be more true for his music&#13;

You can spot Jimmy Edgar's homegrown imprint from twenty paces -- someone at BR HQ genuinely peered at my screen and said, “bit of Ultramajic, eh?” while I was typing this. The warped club constructions falling off the label’s assembly line take many forms, but often serve as an aural reflection of that typically eye-popping artwork: synthetic, pneumatic, and kinda sleazy.

Chambray’s “Rub” flew the freak flag high all through the summer. Now, as a bonus on his Rub Remixes, we have a remix of deep cut “Untitled” by none other than Len Faki. The longstanding techno don remoulds the track into the kind of functional, weaponised tool that laid our Berlin space to waste back in April.

Solid Steel (6th February) We welcome Mike Simonetti in Hour 1 this week, who grew up on New York 80's hardcore punk and went on to form Troubleman Unlimited, Italians Do It Better and now has a new project 'Pale Blue', which is a collaboration with Elizabeth Wight of the band Silver Hands. The mix concentrates on quality over quantity, opening with some words from Henry Rollins from 1985 and delving into some vintage acid and Chicago House from DJ ESP, DJ Hyperactive and Paul Johnson. He described his mix as "music for the dark illegal parties with no emergency exits"

In my sets I play a lot of different genres, Trance/Progressive/Psy/Trap, so I wanted to make something that took the best of all those worlds and smash it into something really energetic and trippy. I never really intended on releasing it and was only going to keep it for my sets because its such a weird song but the response over the last year has been so great and a lot of you asked for it so here it is. Sonic Explorations #004: Andrea Taeggi

Although Los Angeles-based producer Matt Lange has been developing his own take on dark, driving, futurist house and techno for a half-decade now, the buzz around him kicked into overdrive after Mau5trap boss Deadmau5 publicly lauded his new material on Twitter and agreed to put out Lange's stellar album Ephemera, released this September. 

Now, THUMP has Matt Lange ON DECK, and the 50-minute selection is quite the dark journey. Bookended by Lange originals, the mix cheats a penchant for Drumcode with tracks by Sasha Carassi and Nicole Moudaber alongside tunes from Scuba and Oxia.

Lange’s career began working alongside multi-instrumentalist and producer Brian Transeau (BT), co-producing the album "These Hopeful Machines," earning him a Grammy Award-nomination in 2011.
