I think that a devious person is someone who will spin you any line in order to get their own way.  But your demon is much more than a neanderthal with a club.  Your demon (and my demon) has developed a talent for crafting a very good argument every time you consider a drink. He's a clever bastard. Most "tortured artists" would agree (I guess) that you need a period of lucidity before you can actually pen the lyrics and describe the "pain and prickly sickening dreams".  Nice work Matty! Keep it going.

But them days are gone now man them days are part of the previous you, but that demon’s devious don’t believe him when he’s nice to you, that vice entices you but spy the bigger picture frame you’re making gains, eager to repeat procedure do the same.
Two months down the line you’re moving on producing songs, remember what you thought of art and pain well you were wrong. Perverted promises of pain and prickly sickening dreams, talk of tortured artists is he really sick as he seems?

Its a small price to pay suffice to say you got a bargain mate, cos life today is miles away from when you started mate, and I’m amazed at distance come in under half a year, acting the daft bastard had me choosing booze for blues and fear.

You snooze you lose the thing you do becomes the thing you are, addicts chasing dragons downing mace and chasing cars, keeping tallies on our bodies hands and face with scars, little scallies in the alleys writing tales and bars.

Matt Murphy writes, records and performs lyrically driven self psycho-analytical songs in the form of vocally melodic rap music.  

The art is brutally and uncompromisingly honest with content covering an array of gritty, real life situations that make for interesting story-telling. The subject matter can be thought provoking and melancholy at times, but there is a tongue in cheek and jovial aspect to his songs with a fundamentally optimistic outlook. Although difficult to define stylistically, the artists he's  most commonly compared to are Jamie T, Mike Skinner, Plan B and Billy Bragg.
