"I Saw Three Ships (Come Sailing In)" is a traditional and popular Christmas carol from England. A variant of its parent tune "Greensleeves", the earliest printed version of "I Saw Three Ships" is from the 17th century, possibly Derbyshire, and was also published by William B. Sandys in 1833. The lyrics mention the ships sailing into Bethlehem, but the nearest body of water is the Dead Sea about 20 miles away. The reference to three ships is thought to originate in the three ships that bore the purported relics of the Biblical magi to Cologne Cathedral in the 12th century. Check it out - our very first all-original Christmas single! Entitled Don’t Lose Your Mind (It’s Christmas Time!), it tells a tale of Christmas Day, mulled wine, the Queen’s speech, and encourages responsibly enjoying some good old fashioned Christmas cheer.

It was recorded by our long-time producer Garry Boyle at the Depot Studios and includes guest string players Emma Pethybridge (Violin) and Jenny Hill (Double Bass), all of whom we are incredibly grateful to. Have yourselves a merry little Christmas on us...

Matt Norris & the Moon live in Edinburgh & play tunes ranging from folky foot stomping to a noisy fuzz, with some quieter moments in between. There'll be harmonies, choruses and a bit of fiddle and trumpet in there bringing the melodies.
