MOLECULE - Leitmotiv // FULL TRACK

The Huntleys & Palmers label has become an intermittent yet worthy accompaniment to the Glasgow, London and beyond-based parties it grew out of, introducing the wider world to the charms of artists such as Auntie Flo and SOPHIE. Given how busy the Huntleys & Palmers event schedule is (their Autumn programme at Plastic People looks very interesting) it’s little surprise the label has become something of a secondary concern; however, the recent Highlife edits offshoot recently emerged, and now news of their winter release schedule arrives commencing with the label debut of DJs Pareja.

Mariano Caloso & Diego Irasusta are no strangers to H&P having played their events previously; their forthcoming 10″ for the label presents a further extension of the working relationship forged between Huntleys & Palmers and Cómeme, with the former having previously issued music from the latter’s Chilean artist Alejandro Paz. Due out next month, the two track Steps 10″ should please fans of DJs Pareja’s output for Cómeme, apparently offering up “oddball house” and a title track equally grounded in Kwaito and UK Funky. A bonus digital release of the B-side comes from the pair’s fellow Buenos Aires residents Carisma, who themselves will be releasing through Huntleys & Palmers at a future date along with DrumTalk and Mamacita.

The First release of 2012 from the ever-growing Clouded Vision Recordings sees Belfast’s finest new house pioneer at the helm.

Bubba has released on more labels than most and is famed most recently for his tracks on Hot Creations, Extended Play and Hannah Holland’s “Batty Bass”.

When I first heard “We Need A Break” I knew it was a CV record.  It has the power and the groove to please any floor, but with that little indescribable extra that sets it apart from the ever- expanding musical universe of “safe hits”.  It is tried and tested to an incredible effect, with a breakdown that cuts a fine line over obnoxious and a bass line and vocal that will stay in your head for days to come.

Wanna Dance, Get Up will please the UK house heads and provides an excellent alternative for those without the guts to try and breach the borderline element of the A side.

Matt Walsh’s inter­est in DJing and pro­duc­tion was fos­tered in the late 1990′s, while he was at uni­ver­si­ty and pro­gres­sive house was at its peak. Fast-for­ward a cou­ple of years, a new decade her­ald­ed the birth of Elec­tro­clash and with it DJ Hell’s Gigo­lo Records, City Rock­ers and Play­house. As Matt began to devel­op his trade­mark sound of mod­ern dis­co-infused elec­tron­ic house and tech­no, an offer of a res­i­den­cy at East London’s sem­i­nal T‑Bar club set off a chain of events that would lead to Tur­bo Record­ings don Tiga spot­ting him there in 2007. He then became a long term res­i­dent of Bugged Out! and Tur­bo and has since toured the globe alone and with oth­er artists.

Matt’s record label, Cloud­ed Vision Record­ings has seen releas­es from tal­ent from all cor­ners, includ­ing Red Axes, long term friend Daniel Avery and many more. His two mixed com­pi­la­tions “The Cloud­ed Vision Exper­i­ment” received crit­i­cal acclaim from Mix­mag, GQ and DJ Mag.

Since relo­cat­ing to Mar­gate in 2017, Matt has been busy opening The Tap Room and has trans­formed one of Margate’s secret spots into a boom­ing small bar, where you can expect to see local and trav­el­ling DJs play­ing every week, as well as a great mix of cock­tails and craft beer.



In 2023 Matt reignited his old clubnight "Movement" which was originally formed with Daniel Avery back in 2011. The new version is held quarterly at Faith In Strangers, Margate and the first three sold out parties have seen Erol Alkan, Daniel Avery , Optimo and Richard Fearless join Matt on the decks for the night. August will welcome Manfredas to Margate for the first time and some very exciting collaborations are to follow in 2025.
