‘Hello World’ is the debut album from Matt Wilde, released 14th July 2023 with Band on the Wall Recordings.

'Hello World' is an audio catalogue of personal experiences, thoughts and feelings, shared with honesty and curiosity for the human condition. Matt crafts emotive and uplifting compositions denoting a tender illustration of the human experience, finding and celebrating the simple and beautiful moments of life.

From the initial key flourishes of first single and LP opener ‘Who Cares’, ‘Hello World’ embeds the listener in a technicolour world of rich melodies, crisp instrumentation and meditative grooves. Over its eleven track duration, the album channels calming sonics, passionate playing and an optimistic, playful outlook whilst offering moments of reflection and calm.

With far-reaching support from Gilles Peterson & Tom Ravenscroft (BBC Radio 6), Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2), Jazz FM and more, ‘Hello World’ is Matt Wilde’s most expansive body of work to date.

Co-penning multiple hits with artists such as three-time SAMA nominee Jesse Clegg, multiple SAMA winner Tasha Baxter, SAMA nominee Auriol Hays, SA’s Got Talent winner Johnny Apple, and three-time SAMA winner Bobby van Jaarsveld, Scheepers (now known as SXEEPS) aims even higher with his immaculate new single, Somebody New. 

“This song came about as a night time collaboration in the suburb of Brixton in Johannesburg. It was dark, it was dangerous but I had off street parking so I felt safe. The song is about having to change in a relationship, of how fickle and how enduring  love can be. 'Red Valley' refers to the Welsh who left their homes between 1936 and 1939 to fight in the Spanish civil war against Franco and the rise of facism. Bennett says, "It's just my little nod to the humble people who saw themselves as global citizens and the responsibility that comes with that, and that their individual actions truly mattered".

The track, which opens with guitars and stomping feet, slips effortlessly into a gorgeous groove of dusty guitars and grumbling organs, all underpinned by Huw's simple but affecting bass work.
