MR. TOPHAT

Born in Sweden in 1990, Rudolf Nordström—better known as Mr. Tophat—has long been a defining force in Stockholm’s electronic music underground. A producer, DJ, and sonic architect, his deep passion for dance music has driven him to create hypnotic, genre-blurring productions that transcend traditional club sounds.

With a history of curating unique musical experiences, Mr. Tophat co-founded the revered Karlovak label with Art Alfie in 2011, a platform for house music built for nights that defy endings. He also helms Junk Yard Connections, established in 2008, a label known for its strictly limited, no repress approach—making each release a sought-after collector’s item.

His solo work has garnered critical acclaim, with both of his solo albums receiving Grammy nominations, a testament to his ability to push the boundaries of electronic music while maintaining a deeply personal and innovative sound. Following the release of "This Is Pop" (PIAS x Twilight Enterprise), he continues to explore new sonic territories, with upcoming music on Karlovak and a highly anticipated new album with Axel Boman, blending dancefloor euphoria with avant-garde textures.

His collaborations span both the mainstream and the underground, having worked with Robyn, Kleerup, XOV, Lune, and Jelly Crystal, among others. He has been spotlighted by major global media outlets, including MTV, New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, and Pitchfork, further cementing his status as a forward-thinking artist with a broad cultural impact.

On stage, Mr. Tophat continues to appear at some of the world’s most intriguing venues and festivals—sometimes in grandiose settings, other times in shadowy, elusive late-night sanctuaries. Whether behind the decks or orchestrating immersive live performances, he remains an unpredictable and compelling force in electronic music.

Of Finnish descent, but born and raised in California, TIN MAN now has a home in Vienna, a town perfectly suited to his deep and moody productions. TIN MAN launched his Global A label project in 2005. The first two releases, 'Places' and 'Acid Acid', weighed in at three pieces of vinyl each, and showcased his two major musical passions: fragile deep electronica and acid house. TIN MAN has acclaimed releases on the Finnish record label Sähkö / Keys of Life, Cheap Records from Vienna, and continues with new releases on his own imprint, Global A . While TIN MAN's output is diverse in its references, certain underpinnings can be heard throughout. There is always a strong reference to Acid House music, as well as a strong reference to Ambient and Electronic Pop music from the past 30 years. TIN MAN's newer output features his voice and follows a "concept album" format. Thus, complete records are as important as individual songs. The songs tend to follow a simple structure with changes that grow slowly within motifs. Mood construction and story telling are both equally important. And with each new record, there are new historical references to tell different stories. TIN MAN also continues with his passion for Acid House by continuing to produce retro-acid tracks and playing live shows regularly. INTERFERON is a electronic music project and visual art alias of Sean Conner based in Columbus, Ohio and founded in 2013.

Sean has released vinyls on labels such as Mindcut Records and Apothecary Compositions, performed with Hemka, Swarm Intelligence and Container, remixed artists such as Myler and Keepsakes and crafted hundreds of release artwork designs for labels such as Green Fetish , Variance and OMEN Records.

The cohesive array of depth charged devices that Anthony Linell has produced is formidable. From his opening statements as Abdulla Rashim on his early label of the same name, right through to his recent work that puts his aliases aside, there is a robust and rigorous intent that compounds the elemental strategies of techno's models to apprehend his singular vision.

Presiding over Stockholm's Northern Electronics label with Varg (Jonas Rönnberg), Linell dispenses with mechanisms of attention on all fronts. Marked by an indefatigable self-reliance, the label presents exactly what it means to display, and no more. Carving an idiosyncratic platform for his music is as great of a warning as there could be that Linell's leveraging little toward the benefit of the audience. By his measure, the familiarity and comfort of contemporary techno is stripped back to its rushing heart, the senses left tailgating the strobe in a fit of intuition over decision. The greater this is exposed the colder it gets, and its in these extremes that Linell's caustic rhythmic precision hits. Live, it comes off as a galvanizing strike from the outside; analysing the room as a DJ, it's a case of being pursued through the dark.

Just as the brevity of Linell's output in the eyes of techno is exalted as it is brought into focus, the background to this blurs as you start to decipher his other projects. Lundin Oil skirts the fringes of noise and experimental music, and in collaboration with Varg as Ulwhednar, this is perhaps even more pronounced.

Purposively ricocheting between the techno world and experimental electronic music, Linell forges a distinct passage that gathers the aesthetically uncompromising motifs and missions from across this spectrum. It's this combination and resolve that's brought Linell to the world's attention, however little that attention has been solicited.
