One rainy day I was walking alone on an empty beach in Costa Rica and it changed my life. In a challenging time processing my emotions, I wrote the lyrics from my heart and soul: “Give it all to the Ocean, let it be washed away.” The words flowed effortlessly as I visioned myself singing this song to thousands of people, uplifting and inspiring them to realize they are powerful and can return to their joy. I brought in my producer, who has Brazilian roots, to bring in South American vibes.

I remember being in middle school hearing the news about what happened in New York. It had been a couple years since my family had been residence of America. We were not as patriotic as my other American friends, but deep inside, citizen or not, you know when something catastrophic happens. Regardless of how emotionally connected i was to this country, i knew that an injustice had committed. 

I wrote this song not just as a tribute to what took place on September 11th 2001, but as a tribute to what happened after: The rebuilding of a nation. Irrespective of who's in leadership, I will always cling to the hope that our nation is a nation under the God who restores.

Ground Zero

Authentically captivating the audience with a guitar and a soothing voice glistening with passion, singer-songwriter Maxim Marlo completely transformed his whole life and moved from the start-up hustle in Berlin to a bold new life in the jungle of Costa Rica, where he has recorded his first feel-good indie-folk hit song that feels remarkably intimate and relatable to everyone on the path of creating a better world together. 

The calling to purely write, compose and play from his heart, soul and higher self came early in Maxim’s life. Before his first words, he was playing all the toy instruments he could get his hands on, and before his first day of school, he was already dressing like a rockstar and performed on stage for the first time in kindergarten. Since then, he has deepened his studies in the art of songwriting, composing and production with some of the best minds in the industry, receiving guidance from mentors and producers of A-level artists and Grammy-awarded music. 

His soothing voice and uplifting lyrics feel like a warm hug embracing yourself in moments of challenges, raising your head up, proudly standing tall with a courageous heart, ready to embrace change with confidence, positivity and joy. 

“I can relate to your emotions, experiences, and challenges in this journey called life,” he reveals. “I'm living it, going through the ups and downs myself, so I am with you. I share my learnings through my music to inspire and support you on your journey.”
