Active since 2002, Mercury Fall is a psytrance one-man DJ and producer project.
He is the founding member of Moonloop Records, responsible for some high profile releases since 2007.
In 2012 and beyond, he mainly plays progessive goa and techno-prog DJ sets, but remains appreciated for his full-on and ambient DJ sets and live-acts.

2024 is shaping up to be a big year for Fauxplay - his 'Unchained EP' and subsequent 'Deus Breaks' mixes on various EPs have secured support amongst the Breaks community, and with his current EP 'Inhale' and the subsequent single releases (e.g. "Forget"), Fauxplay is also securing attention in the Deep House genre, with a major release planned in October called "Obsession" which is lined up to be his biggest release yet.... 

Fauxplay's sound oozes sophistication, blending together his audio engineering experience with a passion for quality, deep electronic vibes and an ear for hooks, and unencumbered by genre pigeon holes; working alongside some of the world’s best producers with diverse influences ranging from Talking Heads and Simple Minds to Larry Heard, Ron Trent, Derrick May and Four Tet. I've become addicted to drone. Again. I was the kid with his head on the piano, listening to the overtones die away, or pressing his ear to the steel hull of the ferry, enthralled by the sounds it created. I was the kid who formed wordless songs to accompany the sound of train wheels on a long journey, or hummed along with the fan on a hot day.

In the 60s I used to play my 45s on 16, or backwards, or by hand using razor blades as stylii.

I made cut-up tapes on a cheap cassette recorder in the 70s and experimented with reel-to-reel in the 80s.

I am not a musician. I am a scavenger of sounds. I use the most basic software to process those sounds, stretching and filtering until something emerges that makes a joyful noise. Or not...

My fields include fine arts and audio creation. Mostly love in sound and music: their limits, atmosphere, and experiments of any kind.
