As MB Disco's Summer release schedule continues, they return with something very special indeed - as they drop the Martin Brodin remixes of the Giorgio Moroder single, 'I Wanna Rock You'.

Hailed by many as the father of Disco, Giorgio Moroder is credited with being one of the pioneers of early disco & the European dance scene - whilst also producing singles for the likes of Donna Summer & penning songs for David Bowie, Kylie Minogue & Janet Jackson. Also founder of the legendary Musicland studios in Germany, it would go on to welcome artists including The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen & Elton John - who all recorded there across the years.

Marking his return to music in 2012 in fitting fashion, Giorgio Moroder went on to contribute to Daft Punk's studio album - Random Access Memories, whilst also working with a new breed of artists, including Lana Del Rey & Madeon, amongst many others.

Martin Brodin is back, and this time he’s stepping outside his usual Nu-Disco lane with a fresh, unexpected twist on Giorgio Moroder's I Wanna Rock You.

In this remix, Martin takes the iconic original and flips it into an offbeat, breakbeat-infused groove that hits different. 🚀 The infectious vocal hooks remain, but the track now pulses with a whole new energy, keeping the essence alive while injecting a bold, dynamic vibe. With Shakedown now bringing their irresistible groove to 'I Wanna Rock You', Swiss brothers Mandrax & Seb K have played a key role over the years in continuing to push House music forward. First launching in 1999, it was their 2002 single 'At Night' that saw the duo explode on to the international scene - with the record charting across multiple territories, going Top 10 in the UK & still going strong on big floors to this day.

What is the common factor between Giorgio Moroder, Ray Mang, Leroy Burgess, Ilija Rudman and Newcleus? Well, they are all part of the new MB DISCO label hailing from Sweden. It is masterminded by Martin Brodin, the founder of Deeplay Music. With this label he wanted to go back to his Disco roots. Disco Music has always been in Martin’s blood and now he felt it was time to play tribute to it. So how has he done it? The answer is very simple, mix up the old disco feeling with modern sound.

We can call it Nu-Disco, Post-Disco, Disco for 2010 or whatever suits you. For Martin it’s just about the feeling for what he believes is Disco. We will release old-skool super limited 10” vinyl records (yes we’re crazy!!) together with the modern digital downloads to keep our self in the loop of the todays business.

If the legendary Loft was still around, people would probably jump around of joyness. Shining disco balls, hands in the air, roller skating girls, lollipops and a touch of Larry Levan.
