We are happy to announce our first reissue 12" on MCDE Recordings, a record from Manchester Deep House label Rainy City Music (written by Irfan Rainy & Rex Leon in 1995), thave we have been working on licensing for over a year now; a record that had been a secret weapon of Djs such as Theo Parrish, Marcellus Pittmann, Mike Huckaby, Jeremy Underground and myself - arguably one of the finest house music 12-inches to ever come out of the UK.
To mark the 20th birthday of the release, we have carefully remastered the tracks from the original DAT tapes and only slightly modified the original cover artwork.

The simplicity of the elements is the strength here - the creeping discord of the piano, the slow sub rolls - baked together with sharp drum boxes, space echoes and ADV's years of production wisdom.

The celestial Mr Fingers inspired tones of 'First Time' provide the flip.

Midland is a quiet and reserved character but one that always makes a big impact. Despite only being active for a few years, he is already someone who resides in the upper echelons of the global house and techno scene. This is evidenced by the fact that as a DJ he plays only the most revered places, and when he does so he manages to reach far and wide, calling upon many different electronic sounds without ever falling prey to modern trends. It is the same when producing on labels like Aus and his own Graded, where his records are functional but fun affairs with corrugated drums, rugged bass and physical grooves that never fail to arrest a dance floor’s attention. This mix he has served up for us is another fine example of that. 

Starting off in an abstract world of atmospheric sound and smeared chords, it’s not long before Midland establishes a groove that then grows in stature for the next hour. Atop the always physical drums are all manner of cosmic melodies, soul fuelled pads and spryly percussive patterns. Touching on house that ranges from dark and mysterious to more sun kissed and playful, this journey feels much long than it is because of how much Midland manages to so masterfully pack in.

DeMarzo’s greed for music was hereditary. His father’s life long affair with Soul and Motown became genetic. At the age of 8, DeMarzo was enrolled into the Yamaha Keyboard School where he got his first taste of creativity.

Years of writing and performing live became natural and nights spent watching Jazz improv’s became highly influential. Whilst studying music technology at college he began producing his own material- An amalgamation encompassing all his influences became evident in his work.

As a multi-instrumentalist, his obligation to inject ‘groove’ into both his productions and sets is arousing more and more interest. DeMarzo’s sound is a meticulously crafted one. His toxic perfectionism and shrewd sense of rhythm lead him naturally to where he is today. His well-revised sets include anything from underground deep house to main room deep tech.

With releases on the likes of Hot Creations, Noir, This IS Recordings, Warung Records, Glasgow Underground, Resonance Records, Digital Delight, 2DIY4, Nurvous, Acid Fruits, Loulou Records, Nasty Funk, DeMarzo is striving to provide meticulously crafted dance music, which will definitely make you stand up and take notice.

Two turntables, one mixer and a bunch of dope Disco and House records, that's the modest way to discribe the 31st Champloo Music podcast... oh and it's made by Berlin's best kept secret DJ Delfonic.  Enjoy :)

Biography
---------
Delfonic started his professional DJ career in 2004 and has meanwhile played every single club, shack and party in Berlin, and quite a bit in Germany and Europe too. He is holding two residencies, one weekly at Gretchen (the infamous follow up to the Icon Club) and a monthly one called “deep riot” at Farbfernseher. His residency at Icon/Gretchen led him to play very successful sets alongside internationally acclaimed DJ's as Coldcut, Amon Tobin, Bonobo, FaltyDL, Jazzanova, Flying Lotus and many more.

Markus is also vital in providing (Berlin's) Djs with music via his record store OYE in Prenzlauer Berg and organizing the incredible Berlin record store day once a year (in November).

Also he is Label Manager of Box aus Holz, Torben & Money $ex Records, which are related to OYE Records.

In addition to that he produces music for advertising (with his friend Boris...) but we just got the promise from him, that he will work more on club music from now on, too.

A busy guy that will hit you with his experienced, flawless flow and the skills of a Hip Hop veteran but a openminded music taste including grooves from Reggae to Hip Hop, from UK Bass to House and from Dub Step to Jungle and classic Funk, Soul & Disco.

It´s all about the Groove . . .
