Eric McKinney of McKinney James says, "for the single One Of Them Boys, we went for a bit different sound than the island/rock flavorings of debut single I Don't Care.  We went for a more lighter, airy/open sound with the vocals to fit the vibe of the track/words and less chesty (or less "Stevie Nicks") than we often go for with Brooklyn sometimes. And as far as production, we both like the simple but vibey sound that Luke Laird and Shane McAnally went for with Kacey Musgraves on many of her tracks. And both Brooklyn and I hinted towards that sound on this song. Being a multi-instrumentalist, I played Acoustic Guitar, Banjo, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums/Percussion/Hand Claps and added Background Vocals layers to get the right vibe and ambience for this track.  It seems to fit well against the cool vocals we got and creates a nice open, sorta country-pop sound, but still with some hints of influences like Fleetwood Mac and Sheryl Crow that run so deep with both Brooklyn and myself.  My favorite part of the track is the bridge section. We experimented with different sounds to land with this particular production for One Of Them Boys"
