electro like Nucleus BEEEOTCH)

Has 22 releases including 4 on vinyl through
Woody Mcbride’s Communique Label and Frankie Bones’s Hard to Swallow Label.

When you book me you are booking unique music
that is made by me and that you will only hear in my dj sets. I make it a point
to make songs specifically for the gig that will never be released.

Has thrown countless parties/club nights/raves
(Again I seriously don’t remember how many. It’s a lot). Highlights here
include working with Scott Henry/John Tab making the ultra badass Buzz nights
at Nation in Washington DC successful.

When you book me it’s with the understanding
that I know how a night is supposed to flow and when to play the correct songs.
I won’t bang the shit out of your club night if I’m playing early or in the
small room.

Measax Wellman began djing in early 2004 and right before graduating with a degree in philosophy he took on a resident spot at club R2 in Charlottesville, Virginia alongside long time friend Brian Boyd. His djing style was influenced by a love for obscure art and music, which eventually filtering down to minimalism. Since then he has made several moves throughout the state and has helped cultivate a small avant-garde group of minimal freaks. With house mates Jeffrey S. aka Docindo Dorsey and Clinc, he currently helps run events in Virginia and Washington D.C. focused on minimal techno and micro house. 

His production style developed from a childhood obsession with recorders and keyboards and much of it comes from samples he has recorded and collected himself. His sound is influenced by a very eclectic taste in music including bebop jazz, dub reggae, punk rock, underground disco, and early chicago house.

1BTN is an underground, specialist music station based in Brighton & Hove. There is no music policy, just a platform for collectors, connoisseurs and lovers alike to dig and experiment with their favourite music.

We started life as an online service and we are now broadcasting on DAB+ & 101.4FM in East Sussex and online around the world at 1btn.fm.
