The next instalment of the Slow Motion Soundtracks Serie, this time from Pordenone‘s Alessandro Parisi. Interested in esoteric and religious texts, this comes across loud and clear in his stunning, ethereal E.P Andromeda, which at turns send shivers down your spine and expands your mind. Having released on the likes of Giallo Disco and Charlois, this is Alessandro’s first release on Slow Motion. These ecclesiastical synth workouts are sure to inspire clubbers and thinkers alike. 2nd release in the limited vinyl White series dedicated to sounds across synth, new wave, EBM, italo and electro, comes in the form of a split EP by Danish producer Nixxon and Italian dance wave wizard Franz Scala.

Nixxon's gloomy, cosmic electro slow-roller opens Mechatronica White 2, followed by the heavier sounds of West, driven by razor-sharp synth stabs, voodoo percussion and a colossal bassline to boot.

On the flip, Franz Scala meshes italo, acid and spacey synth grooves into two effective anthems for the floor, destined to move bodies and transport minds.

Where to start? The year is 1990. The locale is Italy. The European techno-trance wave is in full swing, built on the foundations of New Beat, with Frankfurt, Valencia, Goa and the Italian riviera as hotspots for this new sound created by blue-eyed producers in the four corners of the Old World.

A few producers linked to the wonderful & influential label DFC release music under the name ATAHUALPA. The influences are Latin, and Inca to be more precise. After all, Atahualpa was the last Inca emperor, executed by the Conquistadors. Weird flex ragazzi, but OK. 

Anyways, I have always loved this tune. It's got everything I love. Early trance arpeggios which are a reminder of the link between Hi-NRG, EBM, New Beat and the T word. Cheeky pan-pipe melodies. Breakbeat loops. Spanish vocals. Early 90s cultural naivety. And a lead keyboard sound that feels like a harpsichord. I fucking love harpsichords.

I love playing this tune when it's the least expected. It sounds even better given the slow treatment. So I sure hope you will vibe with it as much as I do.

French Andres Komatsu release his first EP in NUFF Records with a crossing point between EBM and electronic music.  Integrally composed with hardware, chasing a sound that fluctuates between techno roughness and the played pulse of a band, influences of new wave, synth pop and dark disco stand out, wrapped up in an suspense halo of policial film noir.
One of remixes from this EP that we present you today coming up from German man Fringe Society who goes out to gleam his dub and experimental side and deliver a remix full of texture and maddening sounds, hi hats that come and go, electrical beats running from one side to the other. Choosing the most bewitched notes, he plunges us in a freaky hypnotic trip, full of characters who appear and hide between shadows.

Dark green leaves and sprawling branches formed a canopy over the water, protecting this natural place from prying eyes. It felt peaceful, a place for escaping the stresses of city life. In fact, this river held many secrets, stories that would make your hair stand on end. Its beauty was simply a facade...

Next up on XXX, the Dutch label run by DJ and producr SHMLSS, is good friend and Bordello A Parigi alumni Stijn Sadée. After two contributions to earlier releases for the label, he's now set to release his first original EP on the label, which features a remix from Smala boss Manfredas that they locked in after the Lithuanian producer saw Stijn play live last year. The aesthetics of the label are down to Stijn's brother Thomas who worked closely with him to create something that fitted with the music and his influences.

Four tracks of robust drums, sharp melodies and acid doused bass is what Muzikalist brings to Chem Club’s seventh release to date. The title track, Bizarre Feeling, swirls with layered squelch while ample
grit and build progress throughout. The A2, Polizei, is a paranoid acid number that opens up into multiple melodies and a muddled eurodance vocal that’ll leave you looking over your shoulder. The opening B side, Short Track for Sad Lovers, takes a more reflective approach combining a blinking lead with rich pads without resigning itself from being danceable. The final track, Marine, uses these persistent elements and ramps them up to close out the release with tense form. Muzikalist hailing from Kaliningrad is a genuine devotee of the dance faith and has immersed himself in all things electronic music since 2009. As a DJ he has been performing for the past 15 years and began organizing events in 2008. In 2018, he launched the label Hypnotic Connection focusing on underground dance music without a specific commitment to one style as indicated by his latest releases. In recent years, Muzikalist has released on labels like Flight Recorder, Dark Leader, Tripalium, Snuff Cuts that pushes a sound that crosses the peppy acid, energetic electro, synth and slow tempo spectrums.
