Hi - Another open Collab/Remix Invite, which is still open :-) 
This is probably the 3rd time I’ve attempted to play strings on a digital piano, which I love, though its quite hard to do when one doesn’t know the ‘rules’ of how strings work in practice or theory….. While I think it sounds ok, especially from the mid to the end, I also thought it needed something more….. 

THE OPEN COLLAB: Hence the idea of another ‘Challenge’, where it would be great to get others’ involved and see what they come up with, in collaborating/remixing this track. It can be created in any genre, using any instruments based on this original ‘Strings Improvisation Idea’.

GENERAL GUIDE: 
The MP3 file is available for download - if you require a higher quality, please let us know.  The tempo is a bit ‘free flow’ because its an improv (no click track), and according to my DAW, its 134 bpm (not that I always trust the tempo as I often forget to check it when recording)! If the MP3 alone causes a problem, as noted, you can chop and remix the track (as long as the original or main theme/motif remains). 

See what you come up with - It is YOUR interpretation; you can do what ever you like - it can be of any genre, add any instruments, percussion, FX, etc …. Change the ‘tone’ of the piece (uplifting, melancholic, ambient, 'energetic', cinematic, electronic, dance, experimental, anything!). 

WHAT NEXT? Just let us know if you've finished a piece[s], upload it privately so we can listen. You can title the track as you see fit in reflection of your creation (and also use your own graphic).  However, please also try to refer to the open collab invite, in both your title and track description (Fallen Tears)- see below. 

As collab/remixes have come in, we have created a separate 'Playlist' to include all participants, and once done, your piece will be added, and redirected to your own page for more exposure. Each participant is also asked to  create a similar playlist on their own Cloud for greatest exposure :-)

Fallen Tears:  Megs McCarthy - Open Collab Invite :)

I produce music to use in videos about saving and promoting our local park...www.facebook.com/FriendsOfMandanPark   It has been a great way to combat stress. I started by taking 5 to 10 minutes every other day... sometimes every day to create a song. I'm well over 150 songs now and I'm organizing them into albums to be published. Songs need descriptions and I am arranging them into playlist. Playlist will end up being songs I select for the album... albums need cover art which I'm working on and downloading. The whole process takes longer than I could have imagined.
I hope to be publishing the release of 12 to 13 albums with about 10 songs on each and then another three best of albums all at once. 
   I've built synthesizers, theremins and percussion generators from scratch starting in high school. I have worked with different types of  music generators, sampling and loop technique since the early '80s most notably the Ensonic sampler. I'm hoping to publish some of those as well as my series of songs I created from the late 90s and early 2000s. I often add guitar backing that I play as well as synthesizer, bass and piano to these tracks. Music runs in the family....my grandfather played both the piano and marimba; he also composed symphonies.
My mother played the piano marimba and ukulele; she also played the cello in the city symphony orchestra.

Although I was quite a singer in my youth those abilities have escaped me and I do not believe they will return, because of that I have entertained several people for singing vocals to the many songs I have lyrics for.  Most of my productions are a works in progress and need vocals and instruments add and remixed.
 In doing these recent production I have begun the process of creating music again instead of just playing along.  I hopefully will be adding one of those early 2000s versions.

 I love the SC community, because it is a 'community', with the many styles of music and the inspirations and encouragement I find here for all! 

After discovering SC and hearing so much talent - I wanted to join in, but so much to learn!   I was a classically trained pianist when a youngster (now a tad rusty), who has restarted a musical journey, originally in learning the field of electronic music, and exploring piano improvisations and compositions.  However, most of my latest works have been piano-based, and am hoping to once again, learn some more electronic and even combine the two; piano and electronic ... But then again, I keep returning to the piano! hehe :)

- still exploring and not feeling bound by any rules!

A Mini Biography: Music has been a part of my life since a young child (my whole family is musical, though of different styles, with my step-father's fantastic rock-band and analog synths, bass and acoustic guitar, my mother's gorgeous Irish folk-band, autoharp and dulcimer, my brother's beautiful self-taught guitar, and my Dad's famous banjo playing) :)   

At a young age of about 5, I attempted composing my own piano works whilst begging my mother for piano lessons; and after about a year, my wish became reality and I trained for the AMEB (Australian Musical Examination Board) exams. I eventually started performing live, with amateur tours around the country area for a singing group and for theatre groups (though that was a long time ago now!). 

But eventually, I headed down a different path in academia, in getting my Bachelors degree, Masters degree and a PhD.

Now I have a chance to find this dream again, slowly but surely, as long as its fun. I also find it very therapeutic, as music can often express so much more than words can. It is a journey where time seems to have no meaning. This is a 'musical diary' of sorts, as I struggle through a difficult time in life health-wise, ... my escape .... music :-)

So, I would love it if you would follow me on this 'journey' because any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

Of course, I am also here as a Fan, and would love to find more people to listen to! There are so many wonderful, talented, and often undiscovered musicians up here, and I cannot get enough of your music! I have very eclectic tastes in music.

If you like relaxing music or contemporary classical music, you're definitely in the right place, especially if you want to discover exciting new artists along with the more established ones! So, if you've liked one of my playlists, check out the rest or you might be missing out on some real gems! (I get no benefit from doing these, other than the joy of connecting people to good music!) As well as contemporary classical, I also have a few other relaxing playlists (ambient, jazz, chillout...), all with no words. 
After getting severe myalgic encepalopathy I found I have to rest a lot and at first it was very boring and frustrating but then I got into Soundcloud! I've come across so many wonderful composers and musicians on here and have developed a love of contemporary classical music. I make relaxing playlists... I started out just for myself but it's always great if someone else enjoys them too! I always try to support artists by choosing their tracks instead of versions posted by fans/others, and I enjoy making my playlists diverse, including all the brilliant female and international composers out there etc (which seem to be lacking in a lot of playlists and auto-play, and which is a great shame as there's so much talent out there!)
Most days I repost my favorite track that I've heard that day from one of my playlists.
