PREMIERE: Jeancy - Survive (Paul Anthonee Remix) [Awen]

Kiman opens proceedings with the self titled EP 'Cassiopeia' - A track that starts with a warm glow building to an ethereal theme. Accompanied by beautiful vocals & infectious chords, the laidback drums and smooth breakdown, Kiman's cool downtempo vibes works its magic
'Reversable' - the 2nd original track from the Italian, utilizes a deep groove as the foundation, underpinned by smooth synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit. Unified by a deep kick drum and dusky atmospheric emotion, the composition climaxes by adding recurrent percussive elements and soft soaked melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction.

On Remix duties we welcome Minorah - a clinical young talent to emerge in the scene of late, he has enjoyed steady releases on Labo T & Sinners. His 'rework' of Cassiopeia is a musical journey, unified by a warm kick drum and atmospheric emotion, the track is a concoction of warm, deep bass and grooves, swirling pads, textured layers and stunning effects.

All over the world, dance floors are starting to open up again and it is precisely this desire, passion and anticipation of better times that “Four To The Floor 19” reflects.
FTTF19 starts with “https://soundcloud.com/volkanakaalp - Faith” a highly energetic track with a rhythmic gated choir-like synthesizer, a melodic acid lead and driving snare-rolls - exactly the right elements to unfold its potential on big stages.
Next comes “https://soundcloud.com/rafaelcerato - Remini” with driving real sounding string ostinatos that emblematically defy the otherwise large electronic orchestra in the song.
This is followed by “https://soundcloud.com/endoftwinsmusic - Lovers”, a song that captivates us with reduced elements, the right amount of tension and dreamy synthesizers and 80s sounding vocals.

Rounding out the release is 'Breathe' which finds the duo exploring another amalgamation of progressive house and techno. A touch deeper and more laid back than its predecessors, it's bounce and drive still prove quite infectious. Luminous stabs and trailing effects offset each other nicely, as rolling rhythms build momentum across the first act. Icy overlays strike at opportune moments, adding additional depth leading into the main break. Perhaps one of the EP's most memorable moments, the centrepiece delivers feelings of reflection as clustered themes and wintry sonics rise towards a punishing drop and surreal finale. It rounds out a superb Astral Records debut for Lastraw and Nine Collins, who continue to build on their creative synergy here. Highly recommended.

The latest release from Astral Records welcomes Lastraw and Nine Collins to the label for their debut EP. The former has enjoyed a near decade long career as a producer, showcasing his techno sounds via Exotic Refreshment, Rhythmetic Records and Us and Them Records. Meanwhile, Nine Collins has enjoyed similar success as a DJ, playing some of Greece's trendist venues such as Tokyo City Bar, Club Division and The Real Rock n Rolla. Having made their collaborative debut with a contribution to the Movement Recordings 'Technical Progress' Vol. 11 collection earlier this year, Lastraw and Nine Collins now present their first ever artist EP entitled 'Her Kind'.

Beginning with the title selection the duo explores the depths of cosmic techno with a heady creation that's sure to get your dance floor moving. Waves of rippling bass power forward, setting the foundation, while clattering percussion and crunchy rhythms encase the framework. Adding further intrigue, a spoken word vocal narrative intertwines with the astral themes as wavy arps rise to prominence. Racing towards the main break, the groove strips down for a colourful entry, moving through striking artefacts and processed vocals, perfectly setting up an emotional bridge into an exhilarating finale.

Armonica's Cosmo remix is a dark and throbbing version that takes you from the beach-driven sunset mood of the original to the dark corners of a club. The cosmic, sparkling melodies lift the track into a climactic swirl, while their Silky rework brings the funk into the mix. Wennink's dreamy vocal is brought to the fore alongside a thumpin' slapped bassline that drives this track through its indie dance-inspired production.

Dodi Palese brings a heads down dancefloor energy that will surely make this a firm peak time classic, a proper underground house track that rises above its dance floor rhythm. A fast driving Ramirez-style bassline, syncopated vocals, and a hands-in-the-air melody that takes the roof off, before finally building to a siren-inspired drop.

Rising talent, Fat Cosmoe sprinkle Protection with some late night, early morning, deep house balearic glitter. They re-harmonize the track with a new uplifting chord progression, doubling the vocals with lush layers and pitch effects, adding a warm, rhythmic synth melody and their emotional production trademark, making this perfect for the afterparty.

Frequent Flyer contains a superb combination of bustling beats and vibrating synths. Starting at a slow pace, but this track forms its body along the way. Juicy!

Perfect Landing is quite driving in the beats department. Rolling grove, heavy on the bass ... uptempo classy stuff!

Martin's progressive approach on Frequent Flyer is top-notch. Expect a swing-fueled and hypnotic groove.
