On remix duty ICONYC Noir welcomes none other than Lessovsky who delivers a gem of a remix with his dance floor-oriented rework. His remix is interspersing with roomy glowing love, filtered stabs and stunning groove which beautifully leads into a drop full of tension and excitement, with the understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. Sound Avenue opens 2022's second quarter with a new single from label boss https://soundcloud.com/madloch and frequent studio partner https://soundcloud.com/subnode. Now approaching four years in their creative partnership, the Belgian duo had a noteworthy 2021, releasing two well-received singles across the year. September saw Madloch and Subnode deliver their 'A Short Moment' to commemorate Another Life Music's one hundredth release. Backed by remixes from Petar Dundov and Zoi (CA), it was quickly followed by what was arguably the duo's most enigmatic work to date in 'Utopia'. Landing in October amidst support from Eelke Kleijn, Laurent Garnier and Nick Warren, the sleek yet powerful creation received remixes from iconic duo Hernan Cattaneo and Soundexile, along with rising Aussie talent Microlot. Now, presenting their first project of 2022, Madloch and Subnode return to Sound Avenue with the much anticipated 'Bariloche', alongside remixes from Jean Caillou and Fabian Balino.

The release concludes with Fabian Balino returning to the label and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Bariloche'. Born in New York but raised in Uruguay, Fabian Balino is no stranger to the Sound Avenue label family, having released five originals and a remix since his debut via 2021's 'Correlation' Vol. 4 collection. Also, an accomplished DJ, the New York resident has taken his groovy sound to the city's nightlife, performing at PHD Dream Downtown, XVI Rooftop and 1Oak, where he supported international star Felix Da Housecat. Continuing to build a bond with Sound Avenue, Fabian now returns to the label with a groovy take on 'Bariloche'. Tempo and drive come up a touch as the piece takes shape, with siren-like tones and wavering sonics creating an air of anticipation. More enthralling yet is a heartfelt harmonic wave, gently rising as percussion flickers off in the distance, with the second of two breaks drawing closer. Tranquil tones and dulcet chord stabs intertwine as the interlude evolves, eventually reaching an understanded apex and soaring, key changing finale. A sensational interpretation from Fabian, making for a successful Sound Avenue return for himself, Jean Caillou, Madloch and Subnode.

Madloch's Sound Avenue continues a strong Spring season by welcoming about:river back to the label for their debut EP. The Estonian duo is a unique collaborative project between father and son. Conceptualized by father Oleg in 2018, the following year saw his 12-year-old son Ervin join the project. Initially a clarinet and keyboard player, Ervin quickly became a committed member of the project, contributing not only to live performances but also in the creative process, writing the main themes of their musical creations. Their productions tell a dynamic and sometimes epic story that happens to be set in a dance-groove environment. Since first emerging, the duo's fresh style has continued to delight both their fans and contemporaries, with the world's premiere electronic music tastemakers championing their work. Having made their Sound Avenue debut in August of 2021 with a remix of Nopi's 'Flatter', about:river now makes a welcome return to the label with a three-track showcase entitled 'Three Drops of Dopamine'.

Opener 'One Word' is an apt barometer of where about:river's headspace is at, letting atmospheric refrains blanket buoyant beats and a forest of immaculately manicured percussion. The duo's instinctive ability to craft transcendent storyboards is reaffirmed with stunning effects and incandescent fragments marrying beautifully, providing an engaging five-minute journey that is equal parts colourful and emotive.

Moving forward and more reflective still are the pacey beats and heartrending themes of 'Two Oceans'. A mesmerizing dance floor jaunt powered by welcoming sonics and exhilaratingly unpredictable atmospheres. Its adventurous spirit is something about:river relishes in, as the duo continues to flex their free-thinking muscles, and in turn nails that rare compositional balance of musicality and groove.

Continuing on a hopeful monochrome is the whimsical sound-art of the collection's closer 'Three Glasses of Wine'. Enthusiastic and upbeat, it's a composition that further cements about:river's elusive vision, as florid beginnings morph into a meditative, consciousness-expanding conversion of musical ideas. It's thrilling pulse and soulful dynamism provide a much-needed dance floor curveball for the more adventurous selectors out there, one which breaks preconceptions and made-up minds, making about:river's music such an addictive pill to swallow.

His music already shows a strong sense of identity, blending deep atmospheres with melodic detail.

The Cosas Que Me Quedo EP features three originals, including the title track alongside Plaza De Chacras and 21:00 en Verano.
