Our fragment series continues. This month's story is told by Paragon.

Originally from Istanbul, Yoel has been a fan of electronic music since a young age. With mixes on renowned podcasts such as Spazio Magnetico, Fur:ther Sessions, and many more, he is always open to exploring different sounds. 

In 2020, he launched with his collective a podcast series called Parallel Perception. A new project guided by the stories of some unique yet really talented artists. The platform explores the thin line between hypnotic, atmospheric, and deep techno. 

‘’ During the lockdown times of pandemic, I was going through some dark times like everyone else. Where I wasn’t sure where to find inspiration from so I recorded this mix one day when I was feeling super deep and experimenting for a set. So the outcome of this set is a showcase of what I’ve been through lockdown, it helped me shape up the sound design that I aim for the selections I use nowadays on clubs as well. ‘’

From collective memory’s subconcious, the story of an imperfect God comes to us, Heracles myth. Illegitimate son of Zeus, who will face with superhuman strength 12 trials to atone a single moment of madness. The semi god in his wrath kills his family and relatives, not sparing his children, destroing his own life. For the ancient Greeks madness was not to be attributed to the human being, to his behavioral or mental dysfunctions but to the will of the Gods.
It is in fact Hera, wife of Zeus feeling betrayed, grows such a strong hate towards heracles that induces him to madness and murder.
Heracles’ mandness and its consequences, as well as its matrix, superior to human will and conscience, suggest a parallel with the situation we are currently experiencing, imprisoned in a dimension of collective madness.

As the imperfect God alleges his house to shameful purpose, the human being today seems to want to destroy his own house, the Earth he inhabits, as much as the ideal house he thought he had built over centuries of “progress” and “civilization”.
The pandemic has accelerated the unraveling process of a social and political system long gone dead already, releasing nightmares that would frighten even Heracles.
The post-human man in his collective body has become a monster, ready to devour anything before himself. Prey of latest divinity’s up-grade, the social media bubble.
Once again translate the dystopic landscape that surrounds us through a multi-handed work.
A VA, different tracks and artists reinterpreted by the gestures of Nadia D’Alessio. Imprinted forever on a limited number of zinc engravings. The artist acts as a filter between the visual and sound planes, collecting, filtering and reworking the sound objects instantly, injuring the surface with a three-dimensional sign, in a low relief obtained from the slow corrosion of the metal plates thanks to the use of compositions chemical. Unstructured rhythms, rarefied and dark textures, distant dimensions sewn together by barbed wire.
Thru the artist’s vision radical sounds and corroded metals are taking a new and complicit meaning.

The Australian ship Southern Surveyor sails toward the Eastern Coral Sea in November 2012. The crew is nervous when approaching the coordinates of Sandy Island north-east of New Caledonia. Minuscule archipelagos and stone-hard chalk riffs are common in this area. Captain Fred Stein and marine geologist Maria Seton have ordered their crew on deck to scan the waves for dangerous riffs or seabed sightings. Some of the scientist on board follow the search on the computer screen – and are amused to live-track their ship as it crosses the black pixels on Google Maps labelled Sandy Island. The explorers have undiscovered an islet that has been on the maps since Captain Cook charted it on his second voyage as lying off the northern tip of New Caledonia. A British Admiralty chart of 1908 that includes Sandy Island warns: "Caution is necessary while navigating among the low lying islands of the Pacific Ocean. The general details have been collated from the voyages of various navigators extending over a long series of years. The relative position of many dangers may therefore not be exactly given."
