My laptop died the moment I landed from Costa Rica. I bought a similar spec one last minute and ransplanted the hd.  But the HD screw got stripped so I had to drill out the screw and had to figure out a way to secure the hard drive and ended up soldering the hard drive in place.  It was nerve wrecking serious laptop surgery with less than 24 hours before I had to play... but the surgery was successful and everything flowed after...

Spring is in the air and this mix was inspired by the anticipation of festival season being just around the corner. This mix covers numerous genres with the thought of playing to a festival dance floor in mind. 

Jenn’s selections for this mix do not disappoint, they put you into an elated hyper state which we promise will get you excited for the magic in which festival season has in store for us. The Audio Social crew have been long-time fans of J.F.Killah, we have all thrown down at many of her sets and she played our favorite set of the summer last year at Shambhala. A fun fact about this selectress and producer is she grew up playing the piano and completed certification through the Royal Conservatory of Music. HOW COOL IS THAT?! Her being classically trained definitely translates into her mixes. Although Jenn is known to play dark and grime-y tunes, all of it is melodic, which blend flawlessly together. 

We have seen an evolution in J.F.Killah over the past few years. When she first started Djing she exclusively played Drum n Bass and Jungle, but her style has evolved to playing tons of genres. She credits this new evolution to being exposed to a wide variety of sounds while attending festivals and events and being inspired by other artists and producers. 

Jenn inspires us and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the festival scene this summer.

Meta Zen : a mission of healing through art.
Meta Zen is a multimedia art project comprising djing, music production, dancing, event production, visual art, photography, apparel, web development, technological programming, poetry, and jewelry. Mauricio Zuniga was born in Costa Rica in 1977 and started to DJ in 1996 while at University of Pennsylvania. He now resides in Portland, OregonMauricio owned and built the psychedelic record shop, ChaosExistence.com. For 6 years, Chaos Existence was responsible for bringing some of the best psychedelic electronic music to the Pacific Northwest as well as shipping it around the world. He has been an avid dj and dancer contributing to the community. He has also thrown many events bringing world class talent to the PNW. Most notably, Mauricio was responsible for bringing Tipper to the Phoenix Festival in the mid 2000’s and brought acts such as Drumspyder, Kalya Scintilla, Desert Dwellers, Bird of Prey for the first time to Portland, Oregon. Mauricio currently works with Rose Entertainment and Mettā, throwing premiere events continuing to bring cutting edge music. He was nominated by his team as a Rose Entertainment resident DJ.Mauricio's projects draw from a well of diverse sounds. Mauricio likes to weave together unique soundscapes - using the art of storytelling. He has a unique signature of many different styles with a tribal and psychedelic flare.
