The covid pandemic had a great impact on humanity, on the way we relate to each other and on many other sociological aspects that conditioned our daily lives for a time. It also limited the economic stability of artists, programmers and club owners, however, and in reference to the artists who were unable to work in front of their audiences, some were able to delve into other artistic subjects derived entirely from creation. Rhys Fulber took advantage of this period of reflection to integrate himself into a different creative medium, influenced especially by the effect of human beings on nature. Brutal Nature was born as a consequence of the confinement, released in November 2021, and among its qualities we must highlight the introspective character of the Canadian producer, as he manages to adapt his hard and forceful style within a sensitive harmonic atmosphere.

Brutal Nature continues two years later with six versions by different authors. Brutal Nature Redux features the participation of artists and projects from the contemporary electronic music scene such as Years of Denial, Sarin, Evitceles, Qual and Vanity Productions, and another legend of the Canadian industrial scene, Orphx.

Years of Denial’s take on “Rogue Minority” injects some emotion and humanity into the stark and aggressive original while preserving the driving bass riff and lifting it into the sound of a futuristic tribal gathering. Berlin’s Sarin is up next, leaning into the future EBM style he also shares with Fulber but amping up the intensity and apocalyptic dance floor elements of Central State Institute. Night Render is given a darker and more sinister sheen by up-and-coming Bulgarian producer, Evitceles. The nature elements of the original are replaced by a cinematic dystopia, akin to salvaging lost technology in a ruined city. 

Orphx add their rhythmic sophistication to “Stare at the Sun, tripping and refining the original down to its base elements while tuning Sara Taylor’s (Youth Code) screams across what appears to be several channels of short wave radio. Qual’s radical re-interpretation of “Pyrrhic Act” brings elements of Fulber’s past history in EBM right to the fore, creating a groove that’s both retro and very modern, slowing it down so the tension hangs heavier in the air. Lastly but certainly not least, Vanity Productions highlights the “nature” of “Fragility”, accentuating it with delicate clouds hanging in an air of contemplation; darkness and light coexisting in thick emotional textures.

Hewn from the lineage of 1980s EBM, Semantix’s "Caustic Motion" EP is a severe lesson in crunchy basslines and relentless beats from start to finish. The Dallas-based producer is known for his specific style of EBM, the kind that provokes head banging and fist swinging, will release his first SYNTHICIDE EP to coincide with the label and party's tenth anniversary. 

"Caustic Motion" takes no time for pause—it’s about precision and control. The EP is not for the faint of heart but, in fact, the opposite: those calloused and broken. Those who are searching but have not yet found.

Today, Meta Moto Premieres hosts a fundraiser dedicated to supporting Palestinian children in need. The GLANZ + ELEND, unveils "61 + 1 HYMNS FOR THE CHILDREN OF MYNAS | TEARING OF THE TEMPLE Charity VA 002," a collaboration featuring 61 artists uniting to break the silence surrounding the plight of Palestinian children. In a world where silence can no longer be a privilege, especially in the face of injustice and conflict, artists recognize their responsibility to raise consciousness, challenge norms, and advocate for those whose voices are often silenced. The initiative underscores the urgent need to address the ongoing crisis in Palestine, transcending political affiliations to uphold the principles of compassion and justice. Through the power of technology and music, the project amplifies the voices of the oppressed, providing a platform for solidarity and action. By weaving together genres like Techno, Noise, EBM, punk, and experimental music, the compilation serves as a rebellion against apathy and indifference, igniting empathy and inspiring meaningful change.

March 20, 2024, marks the release date of this impactful compilation, dedicated to partnering with organizations like the Palestine Children Relief Fund, Medical Aid Palestine, and Save the Children. As the project invites listeners to join in solidarity and support, it acknowledges the invaluable contributions of the artists involved, emphasizing the collective effort required to make a lasting impact on the lives of Palestinian children. Together, through the transformative power of music, a beacon of hope shines amidst the darkness of conflict, reminding the world of its humanity and the imperative to stand for justice and peace.

“WOMB” marks OTTOMAN GRÜW’s first long format release and debut release on @x-img. This seven track album seamlessly integrates his varied influences, showcasing his adeptness at traversing the expansive possibilities of Industrial inspired electronic music. Ominous atmospheres and rhythms cross between EBM, Techno, Electropunk and Ambient, with infectious vocal elements found throughout. The idea behind “WOMB” stems from the enigmatic relationship we cultivate with the divine - especially in our times of global sorrow, where faith wavers or seems elusive. This spiritual disquiet is mirrored by the album’s sonic exploration of body horror, dissecting the vulnerability of our physical existence while reflecting the pervasive anxiety of our own impermanence.
