Going camping this weekend? Wish you had an extended DJ mix of campfire suitable music that everyone from the grandparents to the kids can enjoy? Look no further. Parental Guidance is Civillian's first foyer into the world of mixing live bands who are playing real instruments, a terrifying thought for many DJ's. With the common thread of real, live music - you can still expect Civillian's signature variety with selections ranging from Aretha Franklin covering the everyone's favourite The Band song "The Weight", to Waylon Jenning's penultimate driving tune "Ramblin' Fever".

Heavily inspired by pioneering efforts in that realm like Smalltown DJ's "Camping Mix", and DJ Ali B "Plays the Blues", this recording was going to be no usual undertaking for Civillian. After 2+ years of focused digging, nearly a year of practicing technique, and a 2 week artist residency in a van down by the river for the final recording stage, it is ready for the open air and the open road.

So this mix is years overdue... As a DJ who started out playing strictly DnB I used to have a secret hate on for house music. House was always a dirty word in my vocabulary but over the years, especially during the pandemic I started to dig it more and more. My doctor said there was nothing wrong with me, it's perfectly normal to like house music.😅 I'm no aficionado but, for a while, I've wanted to put together a bunch of my favorite housey & garagey tunes. So here it is, my first ever House (and a little garage) mix Durty Wurd! Perfect for summer time boogies, road trips, pool parties, orgies etc...

11 years ago I recorded my first Coma Dose mix. Since that day it's been my goal to make it all the way to number 10. These mixes have brought me so much joy over the years and today I am very proud to share with you, Number 10! Woo Hoo! "10 years of Bliss Coast and the journey goes on. Each year has been a monumental effort and my long-term goal to achieve 10 volumes comes to completion with the release of Muse & Marvel. Over the years many fans have told me how much they still love volume 1, Grass & Gospel. So to round out the series I decided to revisit the year one theme and produce another set of bluegrass and gospel songs refreshed for the festival dancefloor and maximum smiles. JPOD Live at Bass Coast 2023 - Bliss Coast 10: Muse and Marvel

This is my tribute to the one and only Pumpkin. He inspired me, one late summer afternoon, when I stumbled upon his live set at LIB in 2012. From then on, I made sure to catch every live show of his that I possibly could & every damn time the energy I felt on the dance floor was better than any other dance floor. It was always packed with many, many smiling faces full of new & old friends, brought together. History in the making - I knew right then and there that this is what it was all about. After hearing of his tragic passing in 2016, I felt a strong calling to carry on the duty of spreading love on the dance floor. It was at that point, when I started taking DJing more seriously on a more public scale. So this is for you, the fans, the ones who never got to know who he was, and Nick the Neck, up there in the sky, dancing in paradise. 🌰

Pumpkin in Paradise

A tribute to the golden days of G Funk, back in the mid 90s.  Featuring cuts from a bunch of different talented mcs of the time.  I have a huge love for 90s hip hop and had fun tributing it in this track.  It also has some trumpet lines that I recorded myself.  Available for Free Download.

Just a guy who loves music. A lot.

What a ride its been, I've been DJing for the past 18 years and have always had fun bouncing between different genres, instruments and DJ tools.  These days I like to play whatever I've been feeling but you can expect a heavy dose of hip hop and throwback classics sprinkled amongst it all.  My influences range from Led Zeppelin to Dr Dre to Fleetwood Mac to Mozart to J Dilla to James Brown to... well too many to list!  I love all music.  Except pop country, that's a pass there bruh. 

I like to have fun with music, some people can get a little too serious sometimes.  Music is the great equalizer that connects us all and I think that's pretty rad.
