The French artist Hayden F can look back on long DJ career and has been producing music for 7 years.

He was resident in the club La Factory and in the Inox Club and has played at the prestigious Mutek festival in Barcelona in 2020.
His approach is not to pre-defined but the tracks are written in the course of experimenting with sound and energy.

As he says in his own words: „I approach my compositions with care, and a lot of room for experiment. I always look for dualities in my tracks between somber deep power and clarity / positive energy. It defines what I am, and translate the emotions that are part of me and the
world that I am living in. Each instrument is a key piece in the story I tell: it evolves, it is alive, and above all, it is true. I use a lot of LFOs on many parameters, because I need some part of the music to be out of my control, random, sometimes chaotic, as life can be.
I want my music to be constantly evolving without ever losing its vibrant energy. It will be deep, sometimes hard, sometimes emotive, and often both. It will always be sincere and personal.“

His EP for Trapez kicks off with "Abstract Movement" a raw industrial sounding acid tune with no stunts, switching the machines „on and off“ for some stop and go feeling.

"Dynamic Peace" builds on more depth with a composition of melancholic melodies and is made to put some goose skin effect to the dancer on the floor.

José Diogo Correia aka Re:Axis has remixed "Dynamic Peace" and kicked out the melody and made it a massive rhythmic affair relying predominantly on drums with little reference of the original. Instead he plays with the synergy and energy which is generated in between the lines.

"Decompression" again picks up on Hayden F’s melodic side and combines it with some sick sequential sounds to show progression.

"Smile When You Think About Me" is the bonus track of the EP and is sort of an intro or outro track whatever you would like to call too. It connects feeling wise to a 4:00 minute heaven like sound before the kick drum goes to work.

Yorkshire-based label head, Alexander Church, is an adventurous artist who's been making music for over two decades, having run his own record shop in the mid-late 90s. His discography includes everything from melodic soundscapes to industrial techno under a range of aliases, always sourcing inspiration from his own deep thinking and desire to tell a personal story. 

Former post-punk band member James Welsh is just as free roaming, having made everything from bass to techno on labels like Futureboogie and Phantasy Sound. They have long been working together on some of electronic music’s most interesting projects and have now come together as the duo Common Factors to launch the new offshoot of Configurations of Self entitled Life Scripts. 

All the music for the new imprint is inspired by the use of boutique analog synthesizers from Buchla, Black Corporation, Portabella, and Erica Synths - including the Syntrx and Sky Dada System for this inaugural release.

Church on the theory behind the label:  
“We create stories about our lives, what they have been and what they will be. This starts in childhood where we weave our perceptions of ourselves and of the world around us into a narrative about what we can and will do. These life scripts then continue to have a deep and unconscious effect on how we live our lives. They shape our self-image, and yet we seldom realise where they come from and are often unaware that they exist at all. Our life scripts are often encouraged and shaped by parents and other family members, whose life scripts were shaped by their parents and so on. In this way, we become a product of our family's history. Likewise, our scripts are also woven by cultural and national forces. Life scripts are not all the same as they may also be significantly affected by individual events, such as being criticized by a teacher or bullied by other children. Life scripts can be very detailed and they can be very vague. They can be very empowering, yet they can also severely limit our lives.” 

The EP opens with six minutes of dreamy breakbeat action on ‘Five Clusters’, a track that is lit up with glistening synth lines and whirring bass, alien sound effects and bubbling pads that make it all the more absorbing. ‘Modelling’ is a subtly uplifting affair with old school post-rave energy, heavenly melodies and glistening FX all powered by dusty breaks. The brilliant ‘Disparaging Patterns’ is more intense, with a darker atmosphere and tightly woven drums, percussion, bass and synth lines all warping and wrapping around each other to hypnotic effect. Lastly, ‘Junctions' is a celestial piece of melodic electronica with ever-evolving lines and shifting chords suspending you in a sea of synth bliss. This is a strong start to what is set to be another fascinating new label from Church.

'Sleep' is the next single to be revealed by Sailor & I in the run-up to his upcoming album launch of ‘Diving For Lost Treasure’. It’s another fine insight into shaping our expectations for the full length, this time featuring Luca Vasta.

Swedish singer, producer and instrumentalist Sailor & I is renowned for his outstanding live performances. He is a multi-faceted artist who has released credits across Skint, Life and Death and Black Butter.  The forthcoming album on Get Physical’s METAPHYSICAL label is packed full of mature indie-dance sounds that cross genre-boundaries and is defined by rich acoustic guitar sounds as well as fantastic synths and sound design. 

'Sleep' is another beautiful and melodic track which sinks you deep into the artist's rich musical world, with warm, soft drums powering things along while the hooky-vocals soar. Luca Vasta's voice brings a toner, angelic element that adds to the majesty of the whole track, and what elevates it even further are the sweeping strings which the artist recorded with a 60 piece orchestra and that send shivers down your spine. 

This is another standout single from the hotly anticipated album.
