This story follows a group of young childhood friends as they grow into adulthood and navigate through the experiences that must come with that; the wistful memories of their youth, the death of childhood, love and loss and growing older. However, they eventually discover they are in an illusionary world controlled by an omniscient super A.I. intelligence directly affecting every decision or even thought one may have, keeping them locked in an endless loop. Ultimately the friends find their true path and break free after a perpetual night of no reprieve.

This concept album sort of acts as a spiritual successor to my Demo EP "Welcome to the Neighborhood", as some similar musical themes appear in both, mostly used to foreshadow this one.

J'ai écrit ce texte lorsque j'avis 15 ou 16 ans : j'habitais alors une très grande barre HLM à Clermont-Ferrand qui s'appelait "la muraille de Chine" ( rien que ça!) Elle a été détruite il y a quelques années. Il faut dire que le jour elle était moche et déprimante; mais quand je sortais le soir, je la voyais illuminée par de nombreuses fenêtres qui restaient éclairées jusque tard dans la nuit, et là je rêvais  à ce que pouvait bien être la vie et les rêves de ses habitants.  C'est étrange la vie et la mémoire : il a fallu que j'attende très longtemps pour parvenir à le mettre en musique, d'une manière qui me semble aller avec son propre rêve, sa propre musicalité

the PERSON, the SOUND : Michael Ash Sharbaugh is a composer of music and poetry, a lead vocalist and synthesist who hails from Philadelphia, PA. Since 1985, Michael has released hundreds of recordings, but known primarily for his atmospheric pop ("Give Yourself Completely"), jarring spacerock ("Dying in the Killing Jar"), and ambient-experimental works ("Infrastructure," "point65c," "Three Aimless Clouds").

Michael's sound is a synergy of 'darkwave-y' electronica and 'trip-hop-y' psychedelia: bass-laden rhythms form the gravity for his own breathy vocals and his soundscapes of dizzying synths and 'found sounds.' His ambient and experimental musics are soothing, and somewhat 'alien' to the ear: they float and shimmer, meander, and -- more often than not -- haunt.
