Ben Carey is a Sydney-based saxophonist, composer and technologist with interests in contemporary classical, interactive, improvised and electro-acoustic music. Ben’s recent research and practice incorporates equal parts performance, composition and the development of musical software systems. Ben’s work has been featured at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (2016), the Metropolis New Music Festival (2015), The Totally Huge New Music Festival (2015), the International Conference of Computational Creativity (2015), the Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression (2012, 2014), the International Computer Music Conference (2013), the Sound and Music Computing Conference (2012), the dBâle festival of electronic music (2012), IRCAM Live @ La Gaité Lyrique (2012). Ben completed a PhD at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2016, and has lectured in music technology and contemporary music at the University of Technology, Sydney and the University of New South Wales. In 2017 he begins a new role as Scholarly Teaching Fellow in Composition and Music Technology at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

David Philips is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from the UK. His work as a solo artist and session guitar player has taken him around the world playing venues and festivals such as Montreaux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Marciac Jazz Festival (France) Delhi Jazz Festival (India), Woodford Folk Festival (Australia), Blue Balls Festival (Switzerland), Mare De Agosto Festival (Azores Islands), plus studio work and live shows in the U.S. and South East Asia. He has also written and recorded productions for companies such as MTV, VH1, Audi and Volkswagon and his Cigar Box Guitar driven song "What Am I?" was used by Redbull, bringing a little more worldwide attention to his music. In 2017 his song "Hummingbird" was used on History Channel's navy seals based drama "Six".
Philips self released his debut album “Heal Yourself Alone” in 2010 and was quickly selected as Album Of The Week by Robert Elms at BBC Radio London. It was also at #34 in the top 100 roots/country albums of 2011, compiled by Roots Music Report in the US. After a short tour of Holland and Belgium Philips signed with Black and Tan Records in Holland and released his next 4 albums with the Dutch label. Philips is known for his D.I.Y approach in the studio, writing, recording and producing all his albums himself as well as playing almost all instruments and tracking all vocals. The Rooftop Recordings (2011) was recorded in his rooftop apartment in Barcelona, Spain while December Wine (The 4 Track Tapes) (2013) is a selection of demos recorded using a Tascam 4 track cassette machine. 2015's "If I Had Wings" saw David expand as a composer and producer by including touches of electronica, psychedelia and jazz alongside his usual acoustic and voice approach.
"The Rooftop Recordings 2" (2016) Philips returned to his rooftop apartment in Barcelona to record, getting back to basics with just guitar and voice captured with 2 mics and all doors and windows wide open, a real "fly on the wall" experience. Philips is also a talented painter/draughtsman and his drawings and paintings of birds have provided the artwork for his last 2 releases, giving a good reason to own a CD copy. 
Straight after putting out RTR2 David locked himself in his studio for the Winter months and set to work on songs based around a full band sound and electric guitar. The result is "Winter" an 8 song digital album released in April 2017. Drawing from Blues Rock and Soul for inspiration, Winter is David's most Rock oriented record to date.
In 2017 Philip's song "Hummingbird" was used on History Channel's war drama "Six" and his song Mary was chosen for airplay by BBC Introducing (East Midlands) Radio show.

From April 2017 to April 2018 David went to work on his most recent album "Get Along", released May 2018 on Black and Tan Records the record sees David continue with his D.I.Y. approach to music making with all recording, writing, production, mastering by Philips himself as well as playing all instruments, writing all songs and providing the hand drawn artwork.
David Philips has toured Europe extensively over the past 7 years and continues to showcase his world class guitar playing and carefully crafted songs and stories to a growing audience.

Biographie du groupe

LES WAHI : Groupe originaire de la Cote d' Ivoire, l'aventure des WAHI a commencé lorsque Marco polo dit labrada et Lérou K.Perro, 2 vieux routiers du mouvement "ziguehi", décident de concevoir avec d'autres artistes des années 90, une nouvelle démarche musicale et artistique :
"Le logobi"
.
Pour les enregistrements, ils travaillent avec de nombreux musiciens de studio, qui vont devoir réaliser ce qu’ils ont en tête. Tout d’abord expérimental, les rythmes d'origine, venant essentiellement du "ziguehi" et du "logobi", serviront de base à la musique dont ils rêvent. Les WAHI qui signifie en langue guéré et bété : "ils arrivent" est donc un concept qu'ils qualifieront en langage de la rue de "logobistique" avant d’être un groupe ; une réflexion, un désir de progression, un retour aux sources. Le duo de base du groupe rentre en studio en 1995 et dès l'année 1997, sort un album intitulé : "la vie n'est pas un jeu"

Le groupe se formera au fur et à mesure, sous différentes formes avec l'arrivée en 2010 de GUILLAUME ELUI (guivi2paris) comme manager général ; sans oublier l' arrivée fracassante de l'arrangeur international FREDDY ASSOGBAH pour lancer l'album "le retour du ziguehi".

la musique devient pour eux, un passe-temps favori et réellement un métier. En conquérant un public de plus en plus vaste et fidèle, le groupe fondateur du "LOGOBI" rend orgueil et considération à la musique africaine en général et à la musique ivoirienne en particulier, En Afrique, tout comme en occident et dans le reste du monde, beaucoup de jeunes, loin de leurs parents, peuvent enfin s'identifier à un groupe et à une culture.

Le premier album du groupe, considéré comme étant un vecteur du mal être de la jeunesse ivoirienne d'antan connaît un vif succès.

Une association de membres à partir de l'année 2010 qui permet un meilleur confort financier pour la réalisation d’albums de qualité dans les meilleurs studios de Paris.

Tous les membres du groupe se retrouvent en studio à chaque nouvel enregistrement. Et pour l'année 2012, LES WAHI ont rendez-vous avec le succès international, grâce à leur nouvel l'album intitulé "Le retour du ziguehi" enregistré presqu'en totalité dans les STUDIO DGA à Paris par le célèbre arrangeur FREDDY ASSOGBAH ; le style musical a définitivement un nom : LE LOGOBI STYLE.

Les majors français ne pourront plus ignorer ce groupe qui avance avec les moyens du bord.

Les membres du groupe "LES WAHI" sont désormais producteurs et propriétaires de leurs productions.
