"Once Upon a time... there was a magical stone from the stars. One day, the fish eats the stone and becomes a beautiful mermaid. One day, the sailor finds her and falls in love..."

This is my recording session video at the world famous AIR Studios, where I recorded the original score for "Glowing in the Blue" (2017) animation by Seul Bi Lee from Hoseo University. I had a great joy writing this piece, and the experience at AIR Studios was unbelievable! 

It was a privilege to be part of Berklee Valencia SFTV 2016-17 class where I learned and developed my skills as a composer for visual significantly.

I want to thank all of my friends, faculty, and family who have shaped me over the course and still believing in me.
A new, challenging road is ahead, and I hope I can achieve things that I love to do.

Born in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, Michael W. Choi is a Korean-American composer, conductor, and filmmaker specialized in writing music for film, animation, games, and new media.

He graduated from the Berklee College of Music: Valencia Campus, receiving a Master's degree in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games. His skills include musical composition, arrangement, orchestration, conducting, mixing, and experience in film production skills. He worked with independent directors and artists in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He co-founded a student film production group called KUT Film Production, directing and producing short feature films.

He is currently based in Seoul, South Korea, working as a professional producer, music director, and composer for film, animation, video games, and new media.
